Dwarves in the Mædenjolt Mountains rebelled against the dragons ruling over them. The dragons quickly put down the uprising, and burned many villages in the mountains as punishment.

Chromatic dragons are oppressive, tyrannical rulers, and they forced the dwarves to pay hefty tributes. Eventually, the dwarves stopped paying tribute. This angered the dragons, who then came and took their tributes by force. The dwarves fought back, but were crushed almost immediately. The whole incident was rather minor and would have been forgotten in history, except the dragons decided to burn most of the dwarf villages in the Mædenjolt Mountains as punishment. With their homes destroyed and most of their family members dead, many dwarves left to live elsewhere. Between the villages being destroyed and the mass exodus that followed, the dwarf population in the Mædenjolt Mountains was cut to less than half,
