Mædenjolt Mountains
The Mædenjolt Mountains are the defining feature of the Ankezidar region. This range is crowned by the majestic Mount Braniv, the peak of which marks the highest point in Eltcarem. Dwarves, rock gnomes, and some humans live in and around this mountain range, and it was once the seat of the Great Dwarvish Empire. Now, it is home to many dwarf clans that often war for supremacy.
Geography
The Mædenjolt Mountains consist of the many mountains and hills that cover most of western Ankezidar. The terrain here is rough and rocky. Just west of the mountains is the Elishar River that separates Ankezidar from Ferothi. Many of the mountains here have snow-capped peaks, and on a clear day one can see all way to any of Ankezidar's three coasts. The mountains themselves form a treacherous labyrinth that only the inhabitants can traverse without getting desperately lost. And even then, the mountains span such a large area, that few are familiar with the entire range.
