Acror

Acror is a very isolated country. While its environment mainly supports colder creatures, the citizens put up with it, and have worked out many ways to live in something close to comfort. Through this research they've done on both chemistry and magic to stay warm, they've also inadvertently discovered many modern casting methods, magic item creation methods, and made incredibly large contributions to alchemy and potion-making. Currently, Acror is in a very unproductive state of being, with no real scientific advancements being made after the loss of their former capital, Runswick.   Many powerful magic herbs and minerals such as adamant are found in the northern parts of Acror, but many of the powerful monsters of the world live there as well, such as several types of dragons, and the more nasty elementals.

History

Acror was founded by a group of elves who left Glynellia because they weren't okay with the elitist stance they took to everything, but were also not okay with being treated like commoners in Glaenia. This obvious contradiction of hating elitists, yet also hating not being elitists is probably the first governmental error of a long series of failures to make a functioning governmental system for years to come, extending up to the present day. Right off the bat, long story short, everyone hated eachother. Everyone wanted more power - more than anyone else. After months of arguing, proposing governmental policies, and immediately voting against them, an elvish woman by the name of Pani Ivis became the queen, after all the opposition to her proposed policies mysteriously vanished. Her main focus during her undisputed rule was to expand, make cities, and become a country, which, under her rule, her people did with relative ease. For the next few years, they did their own thing silently, in the background. Along the way, they made various technological advancements. Specifically, they spent a long while studying how exactly magic works, and how it can be exploited to be more or less beneficial to its users. Eventually, Osha noticed all the new cities popping up everywhere, and went to try and buy research from them. It's a long story involving pride and multiple dragons, but they went to war over it, and there was no victor. It was a very forgettable war compared to all the other wars, but in the end, the only thing that really changed was that Osha and Acror were then hostile towards each other. After Pani Ivis was assassinated, her daughter took power, and she declared war on Glaenia the day after she came to power. Acror was annihilated, on Eagian 45th, 1104. Shortly after, in 1106, after seeing the incompetence of their country, many citizens of the southern cities of Acror, including in the capital city, revolted, forming their own country named Vardunn. Since then, Acror has been in a kind of stasis, not doing anything particularly productive, but more just complaining about Vardunn. Their relations with every country are poor, and tensions rise within their cities.

While Acror would invade and re-capture Vardunn at the earliest possible opportunity, if they did so, Osha and Glaenia would both immediately declare war, and Acror would not be able to win. As such, political tensions remain very high between Acror and Vardunn, but it's mostly at a standstill.
