Eastchurch

While not the smallest by size, Eastchurch has the smallest population of the duchies of The Kingdom of Tel. The landscape is generally flat, with forests that are a mix of hard and softwoods. It rains often, keeping things cold and muddy, even in the warmer months. House Tomen, the family given the duchy at the end of the Rexcidium War.
The Isles of Hol-Mor mark the wealthiest area of the duchy, where many ships looking to sail through The North Sea will pass thought Port Dov. In contrast, much of the continental land, that which lies near the large Lake Vermerson and surrounding the Antorin Forest, is either empty, or populated by poor farmers.
Opposed to their previous rulers, House Brakken, the Tomen family is much kinder and merciful. Some would argue to a fault. They achieved their wealth through shipping, and only did so recently. Thus, many critics believe that House Tomen lacks the necessary experience and prestige to rule the duchy effectively. And there is some truth to this, and many of the family’s naiveties have created problems of unrest both in the settlements and the wilds of Eastchurch.
Bandit activity has increased over the past decade, and many of the roaming creatures have come down from the Greyspine Mountains and now meander dangerously close to small hamlets and villages. The people of Eastchruch have recently begun to beseech their leaders, hoping to return the duchy to its once peaceful sate.
