Miss Spring

Local Druids choose two monarchs of beauty, who preform a secret rite to renew the season. These two young ladies will then travel the lands all season to bless local homesteads to have a bountiful growing season.

History

No one remembers the reason that the festival started over 200 years ago since most written history only began about 100 years ago. However, the local lore suggests that one winter was so harsh that it seemed as though it would never end. The cold chilled the bone and the food supply along with the firewood almost seemed to vanish. Then when spring finally came, the flowers bloomed so big and bright that the locals wanted to spread the color around to cheer everyone up. Everyone within 10 miles that grew flowers and those that just were lucky enough to have some sprout up around their homes, brought their bouquets to town and decorated everything. Everyone came into the streets with food and drink. They began to sing and dance and enjoy being outside with all their neighbors.
