Bakal
Material made from what is thought to have been a crashed meteor. In fact, what had crashed into the world was the largest dragon to have ever flown the skies. After hundreds of centuries, the crash was forgotten and the body of the dragon had been lost to time and the elements. This material is actually the petrified remains of the dragons heart, blood and internal organs.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Dull reddish orange when it is mined. However, when forged it can become a brilliant red.
Physical & Chemical Properties
This material can withstand some of the highest heat that the Dwarves have ever seen. Some believe that it could even withstand the breath of a dragon.
Compounds
No one has been able to research this material enough to know what it can really do.
Geology & Geography
Discovered in the Dragon Spire Mountains at the south end of the Bloodstone Fields
Origin & Source
Other than being part of a meteor that crashed into Elios many thousands of years ago, no one can even guess where it originated
Life & Expiration
Bakal is very stable.
History & Usage
History
It is not known where this material came from or how long it has been in the earth. Currently there are no other locations that have discovered anything like this.
Discovery
This was first discovered by Dwarven Miners from the Blackrock Mining Company. No one outside of the Dwarves from the Dragon Spire Mountains know of its existance.
Everyday use
This metal has been used in various areas, from butcher knives to swords and axes. It also has been used as armor for the kings guard.
Industrial Use
It is too soon to tell if this material can be combined to make any other alloy's.
Refinement
The Bakal ore must be refined in order to get any use out of it as a material component. However, if left in the ground in its current state, it will corrupt the land and start turning everything around it a hue of red and orange. These materials will in turn generate a highly superior product than the original.
Manufacturing & Products
Currently, anything that can be produced from a metal can be made with Bakal.
Byproducts & Sideproducts
Months before it's discovery, local vegetation and wildlife began to exhibit pink to orange coloration as well as a different taste.
The slag can produce a highly flammable liquid and combustible gas if mixed with water.
Hazards
The slag that is produced in the refinement of Bakal is flammable if mixed with water.
It is not known if the slag ever dissolves, but when water comes in contact with that slag, the water becomes a dark red viscous liquid that produces a highly combustible gas at low temps.

Environmental Impact
The plant life around the area of the mine has turned shades of red and orange due to the material being disturbed. The animals that eat the plants also turn shades of red, both externally and internally.
The taste of the food and use of the materials have also had a slight change to them as well.
Distribution
Law & Regulation
Currently the Dwarves from the Blackrock Mining Company have this material under close guard. Other than a small wagon of material sent to the King, nothing has left the compound.
