Renn Couriers Guildhall
Situated at the southern gate of the City of Renn, the Renn Couriers Guildhall serves as the main office and storage of Renn Couriers Guild.
Design
The lobby of the Guildhall is very wide in relation to its length (about 48 feet wide and 8 feet long). It leads onto a large square room in which couriers prepare to make deliveries, two stairwells leading onto the basement, and two rooms dedicated to meetings between clients and administrators. The ground floor also features two spiral staircases heading upstairs and a thin corridor going around the back.
Entries
The guildhall has a total of three entrances. A set of double-doors at the front for clients, a single door around the back for couriers, and a hatch in a nearby bush for couriers who need to travel unseen. All three are reinforced and are kept locked when the hall is closed.
Valuables
The basement of the guildhall is used to store items waiting to be delivered until a courier can be found to take them. It is not uncommon for very valuable objects to be stored there, if only for a short time.
History
Construction began on the guildhall in 1476, with the forming of the Renn Couriers Guild by the Renn Council. It took a total of three years to build, the project finishing in 1479.
