Erdantine food
Bukkade
This dish comes from northern Thorn, a speciality at Timra. A nice stew made from beef and spices. Tangy.
Ingredients:
2 pounds of beef
1 small spoonful of sage
1 small spoonful of hyssop
4 egg yolks
1 small spoonful of salt
1 spoon of parsley
Less than a cup of sour juice
A pinch of saffron
Half of a small spoon of ginger
Half of a small spoon of cloves
I think I missed an ingredient or two here, I'll have to check that out on my next visit to Timra.
Put the 2 pounds of beef into a decent-sized pot with about eight cups of water.
I think water might be the ingredient I missed. Wait, no it's not.
Boil and simmer for half of an hour. Remove scum. Add spices and stir well. Simmer for another half of an hour. Whisk eggs in bowl of broth. Add eggs and remaining ingredients and stir. Remove from fire the moment it comes to boil again.
Pear dessert thing
I never could remember the name of this one. Tastes lovely.
Ingredients:
4 pears
A cup of vineale (green)
Half of a cup of sugar
Four yolks of an egg
A small spoon of cinnamon (if available).
Half of a small spoon of ginger
Peel and remove the core of the pears. Cut them into chunks and place them into a pot with the vineale. Boil and simmer for one quarter of an hour. When cool grind with mortar and pestle. Mix with remaining ingredients in pot and boil until thick.
