Baccio Alfonso

Baccio Alfonso was a Cordaintine thinker, who argued against the expansionist nature of the Cordaint Empire, ultimately inciting the Great Rebellion and the fall of the Cordaint Empire though constant loss of territory

Personal history

Baccio Alfonso was raised in relative comfort, born into a well-off family of landowners. After the push for Cordaintines to move to newly annexed areas, he moved to the Peninsula of Erdantia and set up a farm there. He quickly became disillusioned with the belief that this was beneficial for the natives after witnessing the way that Cordaintine soldiers were treating them. In 1387, he moved to Borio, the capital of the empire. He used his wealth to start a school of thinkers who agreed with his view. The school picked up steam quickly, and reached 300 members in four years. He died in 1415, after the god Kineva destroyed the city, leaving no survivors.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Baccio's teachings travelled quickly, eventually reaching Erdantia itself. His views were published in Renn, and dissidence spread quickly. Ultimately, his actions resulted in the uprising of Erdantia, and by extension, the collapse of the Cordaint Empire.

Baccio was a strong believer in equality, and went against the views of racial supremacy that many Cordaintines held.

Baccio never believed that he could liberate Erdantia. His main goals were to improve conditions in the province, holding its liberation as an unreachable dream. Suffice it to say, he was overjoyed by the true effect his words had.
