Medusa
In the midst of the thousand-year war, a parasitic species invade the world. They went on and merged with beasts to create what we know today as the beastkins. Medusas were one of such creation.
Born from the merge of the parasites and serpents, these creatures had the upper body of a human and a lower of a snake. Their affinity is geared more towards curses and more specifically petrification. They can also inflict lethal poisonous attacks.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Hair made of snakes. The upper body of a human, lower body of a snake. While the bone structure of the upper body might look like that of a human from the exterior, there are some remarkable differences you can notice once you take a closer look. The bones are smaller and allow for more flexibility, the rib cage is less dense and the vertebrae are more spacious. This allows medusas to perform bodily feats impossible to humans.
Genetics and Reproduction
The egg-laying period takes five months while the hatching takes one.
Growth Rate & Stages
Medusas grow quickly until reaching maturity, only taking about 5 years to become an adult. Then their aging slows down a lot.
Ecology and Habitats
warm climates, forest, tropical regions.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Much like most beasts, medusas are carnivores. While they have a preference for softer meat like that of deers and rabbits, they can eat other predators with tougher meat.
Biological Cycle
Small medusas shed once a month while older ones shed twice a year. Depending on the climate of their region, they may hibernate during winter before their mating season starts.
