The Settesh

The Settesh are an anomaly within the undead nation of Tolvana, as normally the living are unable to hold positions of power in Tolvanan society (though they can work towards power and the chance of a better station when they die and rise again).
The Settesh are the living noblity of Tolvana and they answer only to the Golden Prince who sits in the Grand Necropolis in the capital city Qaraf, unless the armies of the Tolvana are on the march and they are required to act as commanders for their undead horde to support the Eternal legions and their vampire generals or, if the situation warrants it and the Golden Prince and his Tomb Guard ride to face the enemy, they spend their time serving out their lives as guards on the borders and coasts of Tolvana and this assures them a place within the undead nobility if they die in service to the nation or fighting its enemies. They are all, without exception, powerful necromancers who have the ability to command a multitude of undead that they can magically enervate to feats of strength and speed that have caught the enemies and would be invaders of Tolvana by surprise on several notable occasions.
Each Settesh lives alone in a territory on the border of the country, their territory has been seeded by the bones of those that failed in their duty to the Tolvana and when anyone crosses the border or lands on their shores the Settesh is expected to meet the individual or individuals and ascertain their purpose. Merchants, nobles and those with official business are sent to one of the designated crossing points to be escorted to their destination and those with ill intent join the armies of the Settesh under the sands awaiting the call to action.
