North Eisic Ocean

North Eisic Ocean is the smallest, deepest, coldest and treacherous of the Esholle's four major oceans. Located most northern region of Esholle. Besides its surrounding waters the North Eisic Ocean is home to island nation of Rittermark and the area known as the Fog Lands. It is partly covered by sea ice throughout the year and almost completely in winter

Geography

North Eisic Ocean occupies a roughly circular basin and covers an area of about 7,028,000 km2 (4,366,996 sq mi), It is connected to the landmasses of Hjemsetain, Rittermark, and by Fog Lands. It is connected to the Vilod Ocean by the Solger Strait and to the Vildam Ocean through the Helvand Sea. North Eisic Ocean boarders Fojoron, Hackii, and Rittermark.

Fauna & Flora

The North Eisic Ocean, the primary production of photosynthesizing organisms such as ice algae and phytoplankton is limited to the spring and summer months. Important consumers of primary producers in the central North Eisic Ocean and the are zooplankton, especially copepods and euphausiids, as well as ice-associated fauna. These primary consumers form an important link between the primary producers and higher trophic levels. The composition of higher trophic levels in the North Eisic Ocean varies between the Vilod and the Vildam region. Secondary consumers in the Helvand Sea, are mainly sub- Eisic species including herring, young cod, and capelin. In ice-covered regions of the North Eisic Ocean, polar cod is a central predator of primary consumers. Marine mammals, such as seals, whales, or polar bears, are apex predators in the Arctic Ocean and prey upon fish.

Natural Resources

Petroleum and natural gas fields, placer deposits, polymetallic nodules, sand and gravel aggregates, fish, seals and whales can all be found in abundance in the region. It is significant for the global energy market because it may hold 35% the world's undiscovered oil and gas resources
