Beatification

Magic never leaves humans untouched; those who get in too deep find that it even changes them physically. Ears become longer and more tapered, facial shapes change dramatically, bodies grow taller, and lifespans longer. Some suspect that these changes occur so that magic can flow through bodies more easily. Whatever the case, because of these changes, adept magic-users can be identified on sight.

Transmission & Vectors

The condition is transmitted strictly through the use and channeling of magic through the body. Weaker, less invasive spells do not change the body near as much as more powerful spells. The condition is not contagious, but occasionally offspring will inherent magical traits.

Causes

Magic is a quasi-living thing, and needs certain qualities to 'survive' in its 'host.'
Certain types of magic, particularly those that related to the human person (healing, plaguers, psychology/illusion/empath, etc) will change the user's body more dramatically and more quickly. The rule of thumb is that the more physical the magic, the more it will change the user's body.

Symptoms

Physical changes include elongated and pointed ears, generally taller anatomy, angled eyes, 'unnatural' or exceptionally rare coloration (e.g. white, unusual red or blond hair, purple or gold eyes, etc). Magic-users also tend to live exceptionally long lives.
Different kinds of magic have specific changes. Necromancy, for example, make skin look more transparent and dead.
