Sila

A harbor town of the spurned, banished and cursed. All manner of miscreant, rogue, and scoundrel may find port and refuge in the winding streets of that city where the only rule is the rule of the strong and the cunning. The worst and best aspects of freedom and lawlessness are combined in a volatile boiling pot in this refuge of degeneracy. The remnants of the Chromatic Corsairs have gathered here to forge weapons for their eternal vengeance. Black Disciples flee here out of reach of the Metallic Cohorts to practice their malevolent pursuits in peace. The Crimson Captains make port there, laundering their ill-gotten gains. Even the Undying Brotherhood finds a safe port here and their cadaverous hulks are an often sight in Sila.   Few creatures that consider themselves good or noble have found their way out of Sila safely or at all.

Demographics

Chromatic Dragonborn, Undead, Goblinoids, Giants, Orcs, Kobolds, and every other kind of monster you may imagine dwell in this port city. But after the comet landed an indisputable majority are now undead, awakened and more than a little disappointed with their creators.

Government

There is no official government and no ruling body except perhaps for the tenuous balance between the multiple gangs and factions maintain in the interests of profit. Prolific figures include Old Mangy Pew, Gyuren Jinasl, Lady Millisa, Madame Bellatrix and Duraj the Drake Slayer.   Old Mangy Pew: An old Firbolg Druid who fled far Reach after Huron begun hunting druids. He is now the largest exporter of undead man force and one of the few necromancers not to be killed by his minions. Now he is likely the most powerful pirate lord on Sila.   Gyuren Jinasl: Half Elf renegade now a vampire and a pirate captain of renown and considerable prowess.   Lady Milisa: The Matriarch of the Black Spiders on Sila, a woman of ruthless reputation up until recently she sold most of the weapons on Sila.   Madame Bellatrix: Arguably the most powerful captain on Sila before the comet fell. Now with half her crews defecting she lost much of the control she had.   Duraj the Drake Slayer: An old and well respected leader of the chromatic dragonborn, this red-scaled captain was made famous by killing the last dragon on Far Reach.

Defences

The defenses of a pirate port can be summed up by the number of ships currently present and the willingness of those on land to fight and more often than not the number of those willing to fight is a little more than one has any right to expect from a gathering of thieves.

Industry & Trade

There is no trade at least not in the traditional sense, most of the trade are stolen goods fenced through the Rat Hole or through Mangy Old Pew. While the industry is geared towards war and piracy.

Infrastructure

Sila boasts something no other city in hundreds or thousands of miles can: a functioning shipyard that tirelessly pumps out new vessels for piracy and other wanton criminal activity. It is said that a few airships are also being constructed, if unsuccessfully.   The Mist Den, a lowly hole for someone to crawl into and forget all their worries in the evaporations of hallucinogenic Hox. Blooming Corner, a tea shop shied by most folk even in this place. Run by a spore druid this tea shop serves some of the best tea and infusions, with often unexpected side effects. Rat Hole, a name given not taken. A rancid little canteen down in the Sila sewers run by a group of wererats that serves as a fence for a lot of stolen or otherwise acquired goods. Pentagonal Forge, a strange place where the chromatic dragons and Black Disciples reconciled and use it to produce a variety of deadly and possessed items.

Assets

Old Mangy Pew: Over 2000 Armsmen, mostly undead. 7 Man of War, 11 Frigates, 14 Schooners, 4 Brigs, 6 Clippers.   Gyuren Jinasl: Around 600 Armsmen. 2 Man of War, 5 Frigates, 2 Schooners, 3 Brigs, 1 Clipper.   Lady Milisa: Around 300 Armsmen, 2 Frigates, 2 Schooners, 6 Clippers.   Madame Bellatrix: About 1000 Armsmen, 4 Man of War, 7 Frigates, 3 Schooners, 14 Brigs, 1 Clipper.   Duraj the Drake Slayer: About 500 Armsmen, 1 Man of War, 9 Frigates, 2 Schooners, 12 Brigs.

Guilds and Factions

Chromatic Corsairs: A collection of chromatic and other Dragonborn, half-dragons, Kobolds, lizardfolk and other dragon folks. All of them are driven by a mix of desires, ambitions, but a united feeling of being betrayed by their draconic gods and metallic brothers.   Undying Brotherhood: A conglomerate of the undead, liches, wights, and others captaining ships both on the ocean and in the astral sea. They are equally hated on both seas and feared as the creatures they kill raise to bolster the unholy crews. And these undead buccaneers share a vague unity in their hatred towards the Great Sepulcher and make-shift loyalty to Old Mangy Pew, despite him not being directly in charge his work of the Rattlebones Scallywag code is in good repute even if under another name and his word is counted with among the many undead captains most of which rose by his behest.   Black Disciples: A gathering of those who survived the Demonic Fever, those changed by the hellish affliction now band together in attempts to reconcile their new nature and often form powerful cabals that can threaten entire cities, but despite their differences they are united by their loyalty to the Black Demon.   Black Spiders: A shadow organization of arms dealers and smugglers who operate across Far Reach and as rumor would have it, much wider.
Crimson Captains: Vampires on the high seas, for them the plunder is the crew, not the cargo. A makeshift nobility with titles and phony estates guarding a semblance of civility and pleasant manners. While possibly being the worst Sila has to offer.

History

A small gathering of renegade Dragonborn and undead pirates founded a village. Before half a century the village developed into a thriving community of thieves, murderers, and pirates. With enough firepower and manpower to hold onto this.

Architecture

Slums mix with stone fortresses of the Dragon Born to the gothic districts of the undying Brethren and the towers of the Black Disciples. Few cities have such wildly varying architectural styles.

Geography

A sheltered harbor that allows for ample safe ports.

Natural Resources

A large amount of wood further inland that is often used for ship and fortifications by the corsairs. Plentiful fish and shipwrecks which are repaired by undead crews and fashioned again for sail and piracy.
