The Republic
From the cross streets of Olovich and Durnhodst you see the beautiful tale of The Republics' promises, as well as its failures. Down Olovich lies the bustling street goings of passers-by, dressed in fine doublets of silk, and velvet. Shopkeepers yelling their wares and collecting healthy sums of gold purses, pushing them ever onward toward their next goals in life.
You turn your head down Durnhodst, and see down the rows of two storied houses to the horizon, where the houses lean left to right, remnants of long faded patch-work repairs. Where black smoke rises, and where the poor beg at the road for money, unable to work, or become educated.
You sigh heavily, in your heart you wish you could do more, but such is the life here. Your purse is heavy this day, ready to invest in your next business adventure.

Foreign Relations
The Freelands and the Republic often work together in trade deals, and share a mutually beneficial relationship dealing in a number of trade deals.
The Imperium and Republic are the same as ever, in a cold war like state until one of them strikes first. Until then they for the most part avoid each other, though many a Republic ship has been sank by pirates of the Shattered Isles, supposedly unsupported by the Imperium. However with the growing concern of the stories of the Warlords new "pet", the Republic has decided not to address these pirating issues, especially considering they have no proof of the Imperiums involvement.
Agriculture & Industry
The Republic focuses on a large food industry, supported by many plain land farms, and animal domestication. They also do a large amount of fishing along many rivers, and in the sea. The Republic is known to collect some of the best cut stone from the Northhollow Quarry, along with a fine grade cement. Because of this most buildings in the Republic are made of stone, cement, or both, even in the most remote locations. Horses bred in the plains of Crossfield are also to be known as the fastest on the continent, and are highly prized possessions by most of the Nobility of the Republic. Furthermore, if you are to look for a good ship, none make them as good as the Republic.
Trade & Transport
Most trade and transport in the Republic is done in two waves:
First one would send their goods along a river or ocean trade route, and then it would be ferried on land via main roadways on wagons or in a caravan. Small villages operate as drop off locations along the riverbanks to support this transport method.
Education
Most of middle and upper class have the funding to pay for institutionalized education for their families, while the poor are typically unable to afford an education of any sort, causing a large hatred between the rich and the poor.
Infrastructure
Most Republic territories are equipped with a full sewage system, all cities and villages are connected via a roadway system or via ports. All streets are lit by magical streetlights to deter nighttime criminals. Each city has a Town Hall, Jail, and security force. All major roadways that pass over rivers have structurally sound bridges, as well as smaller ones dotted throughout the land off of pathways. The wild lands are protected with guard towers that act as sentinel stations for the Riders of the Northern Realm. Finally each large city is protected by large stone walls.

Major Exports
The Republic is known for exporting three main things:
The largest export is their large amount of excess fish of varying species. Close behind that is their stone and cement exports and since opening trade deals with Bourbellia, stone is on the rise. Finally the trade in ships, often to the Freelands, but more so now to Bourbellia across the ocean to the east.
Major Imports
The Republic imports a number of goods from the Freelands, and a few from across the oceans. Namely:
Guard Dogs from Ostein are always in demand for both the Watchman, and shop keepers to protect their investments.
Trout from Riverview are in demand as the Republic has severely over fished this species to near extinction in their lands.
Lumber from Brunswick and MidDale has proven highly valuable as the woods of The Elder Reach, and The Godwood have long been protected by the Wood Elves. Wishing not to ruin their standing with the Wood Elves, they have sought their lumber from the Freelands.
Animal Pelts from Murkwell have proven valuable as the Republic has proven to be scarce of many unique species of animals that are found in the Freelands. Many pelts are used to create furniture, bedding, and winter clothing.
Velvet Fabrics from Orlain, Bourbellia are in high demand by the Nobility as Velvet Fabrics have not been discovered in the native lands of Aeroloth.
Lastly they have been known to buy weapons second hand from Brunswick, who originally bought them from the Imperium, though the Republic denies these claims.
