Cadguard

Demographics

Cadguard is home to mostly Humans, Dwarves, Teiflings, and Dragonborn. Among the people most are placed in the same wealth bracket. About 4% of the population would be considered wealthy. 1 in 4 citizens in Cadguard is a slave.

Government

Cadguard as well as with the rest of the Imperium is an Authoritative state where the local military who doubles as city guard uphold the law on the streets in accordance to Cairn's laws. Honored Ones of Cairn serve as judge, jury, and executioner in court. Taxation in Cadguard, and the Imperium as a whole is quite high; 62% across the board for all citizens with slaves being exempt as they are not true Imperial citizens. Due to the high taxation rates most things for citizens are accommodated for them. Housing, food, jobs, education, and healthcare are provided for all, slaves included.

Defences

The city of Cadguard is known to be an impenetrable city to the rest of the world. Aside from its 3 walls protecting its' head of government, it is surrounded by a moat of molten lava that has been drained from the depths of the Dragonforge. The walls are equipped with ballistas, and trebuchets. There are only two entrances to the city; one on the north side, and one on the south side of the city, each equipped with long blackened steel bridges that funnel traffic in and out of the city.

Industry & Trade

Cadguard mostly imports foods and textiles into the city due to its' large population. Its main exports are weapons, both in the traditional manner and in the manner of Cadguards' large warmachine production. Most citizens work in the trades of food preparation, weapon/armor smithing, healthcare and education.

Infrastructure

Cadguard is a ringed city, broken into 3 distinct districts, each separated by large steel walls, each with their own purpose, much like the Imperiums' citizens. The 3 districts from outwards in are named Shar'kess, Victorum, and Primus.   Shar'kess is home to the bulk of housing, shops, education, and exporting facilities in Cadguard.   -Streets of Metal is a section of Shar'kess focused on Cadguards' weapon export and is home to several master armorsmiths and weaponsmiths. -Arcanum is a section of the city based on magical discovery. It both researches, and sells its discoveries for a fair price. As well as exports exclusively to Imperium territories. -The Sustenance is dedicated to the cities food distribution for the slaves. It also deals in lower-tier restaurants for those willing to pay in Merits. -The Pits houses the majority bulk of the Slaves caste. As well as where the sale and trade of Slaves takes place.   Victorum is the district dedicated housing for the Ebon Corps Military, Religious practices to Kord, and where all candidates for the Ebon Corps are trained.   Primus the center-most ring is where Honored Ones are trained to serve Cairn, and also where the Imperiums' warmachines are developed and manufactured. Lastly it is home to Blackstone; the citadel of the leader of the Imperium which sits near the peak of Mount Dragonforge.   The walls that separate each district have a number of very tall towers built into the walls that serve as docks for the airships of the Imperium.

Assets

Cadguards' largest stores are reserved for its' Dragonsteel. It as well boasts a large silver reserve and a massive supply of Imperium warmachines.

Guilds and Factions

There are 2 main factions running in Cadguard outside the local government.   Firstly is the Legion of Southern Hammers an active mercenary company that operates all over Aeroloth. Cadguard is where their guild offices are and where they were founded.   Lastly is a new up and coming faction that few have heard of even within the city walls; the Hidden, a local crime syndicate focused on smuggling.

Architecture

Most exteriors of all buildings within Cadguard is made of Blacksteel due to the areas massive abundance. while interiors are often a combination of metal and wood. Most houses and all government buildings are adorned with symbols of the Imperium government, Kord religious symbolism, Ebon Corps flags/shields, or magically illuminated signs of varying purposes.

Geography

Cadguard sits surrounding the mountain known as the Dragonforge. The entirety of the city interior is man-made except for a few spots where there are local "parks" which are mainly unique natural obsidian formations. The top of the Dragonforge is the only land untouched by man, other than Blackstone Citadel near it's peak. The lands surrounding the city are mostly rolling barren hill lands.

Natural Resources

The lands just outside the city are mostly farmlands and warehouses which produces a meager amount of food. Inside the city Obsidian, and Dragons' Breath can be harvested, but rarely are and Cadguard is mainly a manufacturing hub that imports from its' surrounding settlements.
