House of the Superior

The moment the four races split from one another is a mystery, something speculated upon by scholars, a question people and orders have devoted their lives to studying. While the belief in the four races in popular memory has devolved into little more than superstition, those who study at certain research centers and those within the Temple know for certain of their existence. One such place is the House of the Superior.

The House of the Superior is largely considered a branch of the Temple by the public, something the Temple has not tried to change. The House of the Superior, however, is a separate belief system that arose before the Barrier Mountains Rising and has gained movement in the past decade or so. 

The main teachings of the House of the Superior is that the Five Cardinal Souls are not to be listened to, not to be cared for. That the Five Cardinal Souls are too far removed from the machinations of our world and that the only Soul the people should follow is the Human's Soul, the one with a vested interest in their people. Historians believe that the House of the Superior played a large part in the Barrier Wars, and though their involvement died down after the Barrier Mountains rose, they are believed to be behind many of the wars that have shaped the central countries since. The House of the Superior has begun to gain a greater following in the past decade or so, to the point were almost every court throughout the continent has a representative present.
