The Battle of the Five Cities / War's End

The Battle of the Five Cities was the last stand for both sides in The First Greater Ecurian War. Taking both sides and their combatants to their absolute limits, the battle was bloody and gore filled. It was not a big battle as most troops had already perished but each side had roughly 6,000 troops left upon it's commence. There will also be a short account of the aftermath of the war in this article.

The Conflict

Prelude

After the Siege of Kartic was ended, both sides agreed to meet on the Western Ecurian Plains to do battle on a level battlefield in order to end the war once and for all.

Deployment

The Xanuan-Trehortian forces were Stood on the western side of the plains. While the Kartish-Junish forces stood to the East. Both around 6,000 strong with limited archers, cavalry and commanders. Along side the Kartish-Junish forces stood Erick Pinn, who was forced to fight despite not wanting to. He wished to remain in Kartic to hide and not have to risk his life but was forced out into battle by the troops who threatened to end his life immediately since they put their life on the line for him many times.

Battlefield

The battlefield was on level ground of grass and soil. It was roughly 2.5 miles sq.

Conditions

Bright morning with a soft breeze. The sun was beginning to show itself when the battle began.

The Engagement

Both sides sounded their bugles and the infantry pressed forward in a march. The Cavalry darted ahead in order to pick off any quick infantry. both sides cavalry eventually met in the middle. Archers shot from a distance taking out members of the opposing cavalry and infantry as they approached. when the infantry finally engaged, there was much bloodshed. Highly trained soldiers, both sides made up of great warriors.

Outcome

The First Greater Ecurian War ends and Erick Pinn dies. Lazurn is never reconstructed.

Aftermath

After the war ends, the remaining leaders settle on a truce. The leaders of Kartic and Juna are forced to step down from their position as punishment as those were in the terms for surrender. This brought a new age of peace to Ecura in general but lead to a bitter resentment and rivalry between the two sides that last to this day.

Historical Significance

This battle has significance in Ecurian history because it brought the First Greater Ecurian War to an end. It is well documented in Ecurian history and is seen as a significant event in Ecurian history which contributed to the Ecura that exists today.

Legacy

This battle is one of the most famous battles in Ecurian History. It is a known tale and has been spread far and wide through word of mouth as well as historical documentation.
