Odese

Odese is the vast desert in the middle of Mesos, which divides the western subcontinent from the eastern one. No one is known to live there but it is common knowledge that many creatures cross Odese from west to east for nesting.

Geography

In the limit between Odese and Heiles , the land is arid and filled with very few watering holes that form during the winter. The relief is relatively flat due to the high erosion.

The center of Odese is filled with sand dunes. Water very rarely falls in the very inside of the desert.

Fauna & Flora

In the closest part to Heiles, lots of arid plants and cactus grow. This plants are adapted to use little water or to store it. Very little plants grow in the inside of the sand dunes of Odese, but there are some plants that form conglomerates in the most humid (which is not much) places of the desert.

As in the rest of Mesos, the predominant wildlife of Odese are dinosaurs. Not many dinosaurs live in this desert and most of them are adapted for speed and to make an efficient use of water.

  • Protoceratops hellenikorhinus
  • Plateosaurus engelhardti

Natural Resources

Odese has one of most richest mines of minerals in all of Mesos. Minerals like borax and sodium nitrate which are use for agriculture and the food industry.

Gemstones like amethysts, diamonds and quartz can be found in the underground of the desert in more frequency than anywhere else in the continent. Turquoise is another of this gemstones, and it can only be found in certain areas of Odese, making it the most valuable gemstone there is.
