Lizardfolk

Lizardfolk are primitive reptilian humanoids that lurk in the swamps and jungles of the world. Their hut villages thrive in forbidding grottos, half-sunken ruins, and watery caverns.

Lizardfolk around Saltmarsh

The lizarfolk tribe around Saltmarsh lives in an old lizardfolk stronghold south of Saltmarsh. They moved there after being driven out of their previous home by a large tribe of sahuagin.
Recently, an alliance has been struck between the lizardfolk, koalinth, locathah, and merfolk in the region to unite against a common enemy: the sahuagin. Recently, the people of Saltmarsh have also joined this alliance, which was organized through members of the Adventurer's Association.

Basic Information

Dietary Needs and Habits

Lizardfolk are omnivorous, but they have a taste for humanoid flesh. Prisoners are often taken back to their camps to become the centerpieces of great feasts and rites involving dancing, storytelling, and ritual combat. Victims are either cooked and eaten by the tribe, or are sacrificed to Semuanya, the lizardfolk god.
