The Great Cataclysm threw the world into chaos and ruin. As magic went wild and uncontrollable the very ground was ripped asunder. Now that the Mage Lord could not relay upon their magic the people rose up and over threw them. By killing the mages and outlawing the use of magic they hoped to stop the destruction and keep it from returning.
Peace settled over the land and many kings ruled over the land of Ebrum . In 738 King Baronet Jarvis had 5 sons. All were equally qualified to rule. None of them would step aside and all wanted the throne for themselves. King Baronet Jarvis , wishing to avoid war, split his kingdom into 5 duchies. Each of his sons were placed in charge and a council was formed to rule the land.
