The Fall of Eladrin

The Conflict

Prelude

Queen Eladrin of the Wood elves was a fierce warrior and wrongfully feared by many. The Governor of the province of Valdera, Henry of Thronbourin, felt oppressed by the elves and sought approval from the King of Ornaldirin to start a war against her. The King told Henry that he would have no support, but let him do as he pleased. In reality it was the Wood Elves who had been oppressed, much more so than other races of Elves. The tension grew high, people started choosing sides, friends became enemies. Before the war began there was a fight already happening. Everything started when Eladrin’s daughter went missing, everyone knew what was about to happen.

Battlefield

Eladrin:

The Queen would tactically use her troops to surround and take prisoners, using forests and darkness to her advantage. When out on field, many soldiers lied by their dead allies to gain an upper hand in combat. This tactic worked until the end of the war when they were caught and taken prisoners, eventually being executed.

Henry of Thronbourin:

Henry chose quantity over quality. He recruited anyone old enough to participate, and wouldn’t care if they could hold a sword or not. He would not participate on the battlefield himself, and he didn’t care what he did to his soldiers so long as they won.

Outcome

All Wood Elves were checked at all borders to Valdera. Anyone could stop them on the street and ask them what their business was. This stopped after a few months.

Aftermath

Eladrin disappeared... sorcerers were made extinct. Magic was only allowed by the few who had been properly trained and had liscenses. At all battlefields flowers started to grow; marigold, forget-me-nots and helenium. In some places there were even daisies and primroses growing. Many believed that gods themselves planted flowers their, angry for the lost lives at these places.

Her people believed in her. They felt oppressed living in Ornaldirin, especially in the province of Valdera

He had power. His subjects feared him. No one dared test his patience or mind. If he set his mind on something, he would rather die than be defeated.

Casualties

Due to the Queen’s tactic to never meet the conflict head on, many of her subjects survived. Most of her people never had to become soldiers due to Eladrin’s use of resources.

Half of the grown population of Valdera was killed on the conquest of the Governor. He terrorized the citizens and killed hundreds on the grounds of treason.

Objectives

They wanted someplace safe, somewhere they could get away from the Governor of Valdera. The gnomes in Morventhal Forest governed themselves, and all they wanted was an area of their own.

To diminish the population of elves in Valdera. Eladrin and her subjects caused him nothing but a problem when they requested anything.
