Arcane Congress

The Arcane Congress is a council of mages that advises Queen Aurala ir'Wynarn and trains spellcasters. The presence of the Arcane Congress in Aundair grants the nation access to arcane magic on par with that of the dragonmarked houses.

Established nearly a thousand years ago, the Arcane Congress was tasked by King Galifar ir'Wynarn I with studying the mysteries of magic and to place these powers at the service of the Kingdom of Galifar. King Galifar founded the Arcane Congress to both serve the interests of his kingdom, and to check the power of the dragonmarked houses due to the longstanding influence of The Twelve, who he did not fully trust.

The Arcane Congress is pragmatic when it comes to spellcasting—seeing little difference between making pacts with celestials and fiends. The organization as a whole attaches no stigma to those who associate with celestials or fiends.
