The Jewel of the Drow

The Drow city of Ust Natha was created as an upper city within the Underdark, primarily built to facilitate trade with Metrol and Cyre in general. During its peak the city thrived with the trade of both Metrol and the other Drow cities of the Underdark deeper below. Maintaining a tactical advantage due to its construction the city became a bastion to stop the Arachni invading the deeper tunnels of the underdark where they were able to spread out and become a far bigger problem for those below. The city has seen greatly diminished prosperity since The Day of Mourning. The city now is only manned as a symbol of what once was one of the most powerful seats of the Drow kingdom as well as a vanguard city against the constantly attacking Arachni forces. Sadly the city no longer sees any trade with the Underdark due to its total lack of natural resources, now relying heavily of the farming and gathering skills of its people, as well as foraging what they can from the Arachni hordes.
The name Ust Natha means; Crowning Jewel in the Drow Tongue.

Government

The City was run as an extension of the Drow Monarchy until the Day of Mourning. After witch time the city saw the Drow empire give up on the city as a lost cause. Those who stayed soon appointed a new Queen and have been under her rule since then.
