Sora Esma

Sora Esma is a creation of Jarrod Taylor   "Old people are not to be underestimated" - Warden   Sora Esma is an elderly hobgoblin woman, her back bent with age, as if her years of wisdom are a physical burden. She travels across the world, collecting stories and trinkets, and many cultures have tales of her or something like her. The goblins of Darguun tell of a withered grandmother who treats everyone like they are her own grandchildren, and will exchange oddities for stories, named Niianu Batuuvk. Children in Aundair and the Eldeen Reaches are told stories of Esma Fendatr, an old crone who brings gifts to good children. They say that she has a thousand friends in a thousand places, and that she holds a thousand secrets for each of them.   Sora Esma is eccentric, but kind. She treats any who show her respect equally, but her story is long—and pity to those who have crossed her and found themselves written into her book of grudges. Sora Esma has little use for coin, and prefers to bargain for her trinkets with stories, favours, and more immaterial things like memories. For Sora Esma, it is not the value of the item itself that matters, but what it means to the person trading it.
