Fallen

Fallen is a district in Lower Dura in Sharn, previously named Godsgate. It was primarily a religious district, and had temples to the Sovereign Host and the Church of the Silver Flame, as well as numerous other faiths. As the city grew in size, many of the religions moved their temples to elsewhere in the city, but the district still served to guide the less fortunate. Some of the temples remained operational, but most of them were converted into housing for the growing population of the city.   On the 9th of Olarune, 918 YK, the Glass Tower was targeted by an attack. The tower, which was floating above the district of Godsgate, collapsed and fell to the ground below. It was a disaster, and whilst most of the debris fell into the Dagger River, enough of it fell on the Godsgate district to destroy it utterly. Thousands of people lost their lives on that day, an event that is comiserated every year on the 9th of Olarune in Sharn.   The city council were unwilling to commit the resources to repair or clean up the ruined district, and so the survivors were left to try and pick up the pieces themselves. Many left as soon as they were able, but others were unwilling to abandon their homes or couldn't afford to go anywhere else. The district, now renamed to Fallen, is believed to be haunted by the restless spirits of those who died on Crystalfall, and is avoided by pretty much everybody. This only worsens the living situation for those still trapped there, who struggle to survive on a daily basis.   The level of the devastation varies, and there are some buildings that remain intact. There is a strong sense of community in Fallen, with those who remain helping each other to survive, sharing what food they have and helping to repair clothing and makeshift tools.

Blackstone Church

Fallen is littered with the shattered remnants of temples to all manner of faith, and broken statues of the Sovereign Host look down disapprovingly on the ruins of the district. Only one temple is still functional in the district, a black stone Church of the Silver Flame that is tended to by the half-elf priestess Faela. Faela isn't part of the hierarchy of the Brelish Church of the Silver Flame, and she receives nothing in return for her service. She saw a community that was in need, and she took up residence in the shattered church to help fulfil that need.   Faela is a pillar of the community in Fallen, providing medical care and helping with whatever she can. Whilst the people of Fallen don't always listen to her or heed her advice, she is the only priest that hasn't abandoned them and they generally look out for her wellbeing. She devotes most of her time to those most in need, and she helps people to leave the district whenever it is feasible to do so.

Ravers

The Ravers, a group of people that are rumoured to reside in Fallen, are the subject of much hearsay and superstition. Most people never encounter them, which has given an air of mystery to them and has allowed stories to run wild. Some say that the ravers are the spirits of the restless dead, unable to pass on to Dolurrh due to the horrific nature of their deaths. Others believe that the ravers are people who have gone mad and commune with these spirits, whilst others claim that they are creatures that rose from Khyber, through a passage opened by the falling tower.   If they truly exist, the ravers are said to move in unnatural ways and attack anybody they come across.
