Dragonmarked Houses

The Dragonmarked Houses are extended families, usually of a single race who's members sometimes manifest Dragonmarks. Due to the power of their Dragonmarks these families often have a near complete monopoly on certain kinds of goods or services. For example House Cannith holds a monopoly on the construction and running of the Lightning Rail system.

The leader of a house is called a Patriarch or Matriarch. The leader typically has a number of lieutenants most of whom will have a higher level Dragonmark

The Dragonmarked houses consider themselves politically neutral in any affairs among the nations of Khorvaire but have never let that neutrality get in the way of profit.
