Tardetania is the region in the south which has nurtured the most advanced societies of the Ispanic Peninsula. Enclosed by mountains and smaller valleys to the northwest and east, the center of this valley is the Dagesa River system, which is named after the dragon turtle queen which is said to inhabit the river and the bay and is worshipped by the turtlefolk who live there. The most powerful Kingdom rules the lower Dagesa river from an artificially contructed island in the middle of the mouth of the river, well-protected by the surrounding marsh, and they rule over their people and the bullywugs, holding the bullywugs in servitude. They claim rule over the entire valley, but in practice their direct rule does not stretch much farther than Hisbaal. (modern-day Seville) To the west of the Dagesa is a thickened wood that encloses the Red River. In past times it was known as the "" but now many in the valley know it as the "Dark Forest". The heart of its foulness surrounds the Red River but parts of its foul influence stretch toward the hills that rim the Dagesa valley and past the Tanos River. (known to the elves as "Ibai Taniel", or the "River of Hunts" for its game) The Red River has been corrupted by an annis hag, Grandmother Wormtooth, who seeks to disrupt the plans of a green hag, who has now gained influence over the people of Tanosfel. Tanosfel is a Greek colony formed by people who have been stranded due to a joint blockade by the Punic people and the Tardetanians. They subsist off of fish from the Tanos River and game from the surrounding forest.
