The Darkness begins to focus on tunneling creatures as a means of sapping fortresses.

Dire Badgers and Trolls appear. The trolls were used as shock troops who could soak up great amounts of damage, while Dire badgers were effective at sapping the wooden palisades that were the staple of forward camps. The battle lines begin to be pushed back.
