The Middleman

Every cult that has ever gotten anywhere, has known this man. Every desperate, power-hungery soul has heard his step. He crops up in legends around the world, but is only known by one true name.
He is the Middleman.
His motives are a mystery, though his purpose is clear. If you need power, he can get it for you, if you need wisdom, he'll find some for you. His service runs both ways, as he is respected by devils, demons, gods and other eldritch beings alike.
But even they find him unsettling. Mortals who deal with him are changed, their features line, their hair greys, for he deals in the only currancy that matters, that being time.
