Personal history

Born in Carcino in 959. Lived with his parents in a small home until they were executed by the Baron in 969. Famlit came home to their bodies having no idea what happened and instinctively ran away. After a year living on the streets, he was eager to find a better life.
Still young and naive, he joined the Carcino Youth Initiative which was advertised as an opportunity for education and housing for poor children. In reality, it was a brutal training program to groom and train kids into becoming new guards and soldiers. The training was primarily physical but included basic education to prevent the guards from embarrassing themselves in the presence of the usual company held in the castle. The Baron believed that fierce competition was the best way to learn and took it to the extreme. Whoever was not the strongest, fastest, or smartest faced punishment. New trainees started off easy, simply being denied free time in the yard. This escalated for those who didn't pass the skewed bell curve next to complete isolation with the exception of physical training, and next to increasingly reduced rations. Famlit had a rough start ranking only about average by the end of his first year which was not nearly good enough to avoid punishment. All of this was intended to fuel the competition which reached a yearly peak at the Annual Final which is divided into age groups.
The first stage, the groups, was held in a large arena where trainees were randomly paired together. They were lightly armed with weapons of choice, and then fought to the death until at least a quarter of the teams were eliminated. The remaining duos who made it to the second stage had to duel each other to the death. Those lucky enough to had two options: fight and win, or refuse to fight. Those choosing the latter would be given an hour to contemplate the decision. Once the timer was up, one would be randomly executed, and the other would be placed at the bottom of the rankings. This is how Famlit survived his first year. by this point he was practically dead inside.
The two stages were meant to teach trainees to detect and swiftly deal with deceit and betrayal. Act first, ask questions later. It also meant that some would betray their partner before reaching the second stage which was a viable means to ensuring victory in the second stage provided that they survived the first.
Eventually Famlit was met by someone from the Adventurer's Guild with proof that the Baron was responsible for the death of his parents. He accepted their offer to join a team to take over Carcino and basically killed the Baron by himself.

Education

Combat and "leadership" training under the previous Baron of Carcino.

Employment

Previously served as captain of the Baron's Guard in Carcino with a specialization in assassination. Now is employed by the Adventurer's Guild and teaching an intern named Franz there.

Tends to help good people when they are in need. Also tends to take lethal options whenever any evil opposes that goal. In his spare time looks for new magical items which preferably are useful for direct combat.
