Bondye
In the middle of the mainlands lies the kingdom of Bondye, full of forests, small hills and a very rainy, humid and chill climate. It used to be a larger kingdom that included Edyre, but Queen Elyanne the III gave birth to twins, and so decided to divide the kingdom of Nuavye to two separate kingdoms, one for each of her sons, with the accord, written down in stone, that they would never take arms against each other, never undermine each other, but always support and help each other's needs. Of course this was wishful thinking and never came to pass, but at the end of the day her sons, Bondye and Edyre each ended up with a kingdom.
Bondye has hereditary monarchy, which remains unbroken since the separation. The first child, be they boy or girl, will inherit the kingdom. A second child is generally not very well received, unless the first is of weakly disposition or is deemed by the council of lords to not be leader material - in which case accidents have been known to happen. The council of lords do not wish to see another separation take place.
Bondye is divided in fourteen territories, and each territory has a major ruler, except for the capital, Nearre, which is a fortified city surrounded by ten estates. The Lord of each estate has a seat in the council, which, together with the king or queen, decide and rule all over the country, and only take advice from local major rulers when something concerns specifically their territory. The Lords, unlike the king, are encouraged to have more than one child, but preferably not more than three. Also, there are strict rules about socially accepted behaviours, and breach of protocol might even lead to one being stripped of their title and lands in favour of a second son or daughter. One such example is a bastard child, so the Lords and Ladies of Bondye have learnt to be very careful when venturing out of wedlock.
A special seat on the council is held for the Sacred Voice, who is responsible for making the will of god known to the council. Usually this is a token position, and only under the rule of Poyson the III did the Sacred Voice hold actual power - a bloody page in Bondye's history that cannot be forgotten too soon.
