Gazing upon the darkness Yalabaatar

Metaphysical / Paranormal event

1948YD
20/6

The party discovers slaughtered livestock, a ruined church and a friars last account of bedlam...

The party stops to investigate a gruesome scene on their way to the Salt Mines: a pasture of cows set to cannibalize one another. Looking for answers, our heroes stumble across a graveyard and an abandoned church, it's door busted in and it's windows blown out. The friar's journal points them to a potential force of anger at work.   It describes a man named Yalabaatar and how he was hanged for the burning down of his home and subsequent murder of his wife and son. Three days passed before the charred corpses of those dead clawed their way back to the surface of the tilled soil. Now thought a necromancer, the townfolk tried to recover Yalabaatar's body and burn it but none who enter the crypt are seen again. Unexplained ire in the townsfolk increased until they were at each other's throats. Eventually, the friar describes locking himself in the chapel and wanting to wait until this all blows over.   The party enters the crypt, intent on completing the friars mission and putting Yalabaatar to rest once and for all.
