The Nonagon Pantheon

The Nonagon faith has been established as the official codified faith structure of the Duchy of Drossei, in the first year of reign of Duke Jossial of Drossei (now King Josial of Drossei. The Nonagon faith centralized and codicied all official deities and in some cases consolidated older, more obscure faiths and lesser deities under the main cores of the Nonagon Pantheon.   Further development and consolidation has been executed in the years 1602-1603 after the establishment of Kingdom of Drossei following the war. While this consolidation has been initially been met with resistance and reluctance of following the new teachings, most of the new kingdom citizens soon realized that the proposed Nonagon pantheon is regardless very closely based on the Age of Enlightement gods and their aspects and in most cases meant nothing to the faithful but change of the official Deity name and possibly some iconography - the basic tenets remained the same. Some people as well claim that the reason the Pantheon has been so quickly adopted in the new kingdom is a testament to the effectivity and, sometimes ruthlesness of the new kingdom law making and enforcement organizations.   The Nonagon pantheon itself is very diverse, offering a suitable deity for anyone who wishes to believe in power greater than themselves. The principal deities outlined in the Nonagon pantheon are loosely tied to ideas, or very basic tenets. The practical exploration of these ideas is then performed by the various Holy orders, or churches if you like, whose devotees tend to focus on one of the main ideas of their deity. These aspected deities are often depicted in slightly altered ways, the development of the initial core ideas being accented by use of additional iconography with deeper meaning.

Divine Origins

The main core of the Nonagon faith sprung from the consequences of the Age of Enlightement and the Wars of Divinity, in which gods walked the earth and waged terrible wars amongst themselves. After the Wars of Divinity it seemd to common man that the gods have left the realms - the discussion is being had to this day whether this has been caused by the decision of the gods themselves, or whether the lack of believers after the terrible wars simply weakend their physical reflections in the world -however, the more studious and pious survivors of the Wars of Divinity understood that the gods are everpresent, if only as the basic facets of the world that is.

The people of Drahman have always been inclined to believe the presence of gods in the world - whether it was the creation myths of the First, or the aforementioned manifestation of the deities amongst them, faith has been always great part of every race and culture on Drahman. It therefore comes as no surprise that even after the War of Divinity that devastated the realms, whispers to gods and pleas for guidance started echoing in the homes of men, underground rocky halls and even on the winds of the lush elven forests.

Where the elder races returned back to worshipping their original deities, possibly only expanding on their previous teachings, it was the ingenious human race of Drahman that suffered the most and therefore had the hardest time returning to their gods. This was most apparent in the way the gods were now worshipped - no longer were they called by their original names, but instead, the ideas of their spheres of inflence or dominance if you will have been called upon. It is no longer known whether this has been out of fear of lending the gods their corporeal forms again, or simply out of spite and resentment - but the fact remains that over the next centuries there is no structure of faith established widely across the human realms of Drahman and the worship is very shattered and disorganized.

It is only in the Age of Prosperity that many realms revisit and attempt to categorize the faith as a support for their political efforts, however none went so far as the Duchy of Drossei in 1585, officialy codicing the faith structures.
