Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Empress is most often depicted as women of noble statue, regal and on first sight, detached. It is only after close inspection of most of her iconography that we see the subtle care in her eyes, the spark of life and emotion that offsets her from The Emperor. She is often depicted with Sun shining around her.   The most iconography most often seen with any representation of The Empress can be classified under three main aspects being focused by the believers:   Empress holding a chalice or a cup: This depiction is related to the loving, sensitive and sacrificial nature of The Empress. She never reacts with impatience or anger, and she has a kind word for everyone. She is compassionate and lets her heart lead the way. She reveres all aspects of the divine's creation, loves and embraces everyone, and is moved by the tragedies of life or by another's pain. The main tenets of the followers of this aspect of The Empress often focus on to treating everyone with kindness, compassion, and love. Sigil often include just hands holding a cup/chalice.   Empress holding a sword: This symbology is often aligned with the care and purity aspects of The Empress. She is never depicted as actively aggressive or attacking, but more guarding and protecting what is good in life. Some teachings that explore these aspects more in depth even implore, that this aspect of protection should always be superior to any written law, worshipping The Empress as the unbound protective force to preserve those who are good. Sigil often include just a hand holding sword.   Empress holding a sickle and/or with a snake depicted around her leg: The Empress Fertile, how she is often being called, is the aspect of the godess that governs all growth, birth and abundance. Depending on whether the idea is to focus more on her natural growth and abundance or the fertility of a woman, either the sickle or the snake symbolism becomes more prominent. The followers of this particular aspects of The Empress are considered to be the most free-spirited. Sigils are often reduced just to depiction of sickle, coiled snake, or both.
