Malchai

A bustling market filled with various wares, often at discount before being taken into Dagonor. Filled with inns for all the incoming traders, Malchai's capital is the first stop before Dagonor for many. It's the next best thing to the markets in Dagonor, and many come there because of its less strict policy on goods--even though Dagonor is liberal with its laws to keep business booming, Malchai is even less so.   However, once Dagonor was gone, the market still remained. Even after being conquered by Quinn, the market still bustles, if slightly less so. And after Dagonor, it bustles with slave trading. Draglins, to be precise. Quinn tolerates this, despite his connection to draglins. Being a valuable war-front territory, it's better to stay on their good side. It's really sort of unsettling how much they like slaves...but besides, breeding more Draglins isn't terrible for his cause. Unless they fall in the wrong hands, of course. But its capital is far away from the front lines, where most everyone lives and trades. The barrier is fierce, too. Quinn sends his forces to fight Seca, Icor, and the Dynasty (where it breaks through), and most of the citizens stay away.   "They're not any worse than you," one of Quinn's mages points out after another one of his small rants on the place. "You practically enslaved many fighting armies."   Quinn opens his mouth, but shuts it. His mage isn't wrong. I do kinda sorta maybe enslave people. Sometimes.   "You're right," he finally manages to say in a rather small, un-Quinn like voice. "Maybe we should change that...?"   "How would you do that?" the mage scoffs. "Ask? 'Hey, anyone want to volunteer for the army? Where you kinda sorta maybe might get killed?'"   "Better than draglin slaves," Quin mutters. "Poor things. Even if I am supposed to be waging a war against Dagonor."   The mages smiled at each other. Even if Quinn was a bit terrifying at times with all the magic condensing like 110% humidity around him, he was reasonable and kind most of the time.

Structure

King, advisers (elected by the people; but often this process is skewed), military officials.

Assets

Important border territory, water territory, robust military and trading (when it was free under New Gae, a thriving slave trade that Quinn tolerates.

History

After Dagonor was put into place, Malchai started out as a city near the border, a common stop on the way to the bustling trade markets of Dagonor. It evolved into a merchant's town, then expanded. It chose to elect officials to rule and act in the elected's interests, but eventually a king was put in place through conflict, and still remains. Eventually it expanded into a country, and remained even after Dagonor was defeated, taken over by Quinn.
