Vur Dural
The dwarves have been on Dracorbis as early as 501 AOM, and were the first beings to be converged onto the continent. Immediately thrown into slavery by the elves of Ullarion , they quickly sought to find a place to call their home. In 511 AOM, the dwarves found their freedom and established Vur Dural in the heart of the mountain, to escape from their elven captors. They found the solitude they desired until 594 AOM, when a group of Witchlings told Thurgrad Honorforged to either join their cause or perish. Thurgrad refused, and the witchlings flooded Vur Dural using the Tail of Skorn. Thurgrad and his subjects fled to Mountainfoot Village, but many dwarves drowned in the attack. Two months later, after the Treaty of the Gems was signed, Vur Dural was re-established. In 595 AOM, the dwarves were the first to discover the Claws of Skorn in their mines, however, Ullarion opted to omit this information from their rival, Yovale. In 596 AOM, they assisted Drakengard, Irrestead, and Ullarion in the assault on Mylarion to retrieve the Breath of Skorn, Tail of Skorn, and Wings of Skorn. Once the Battle of the Planar Gems was over, Vur Dural has kept to itself, with the Claws of Skorn in their possession.
Vur Dural In A Nutshell
Friendliness: 1/3 Services: 1/3 Comfort: 1/3 Available Quests: Vur Dural Population. 1,500 Leader. King Lomir Honorforged (lawful good dwarf noble), a middle-aged king who always puts family above all else, but greatly feels the weight of the crown when times get difficult. Militia. Between the royal guard and the Fighter's Guild, the army is composed of 300 troops, 75 clerics, 75 paladins, and 150 fighters. Heraldry. A black hammer with white wings sprouting from the base of the grip, surrounded by yellow. Rival. Ullarion, YovaleTravel to Vur Dural
The only way to Vur Dural is through the mountain range in a tunnel carved out by the dwarves. These tunnels also lead to the Witchling schools. Characters who walk on foot can reach there in 1 day, traveling from Mountainfoot Village, while traveling on horseback can shorten this time by as much as 50 percent. The dwarves of Vur Dural are strong and dependable folk. They are polite to newcomers (with the exception of elves, drow, orcs, giants, and their half-blood counterparts), but wary until the newcomer proves otherwise. A Letter of Safe Conduct is required to enter the city, however, it isn’t enough to win over anyone. The dwarves are very stuck in their ways and assume the worst with outsiders. Friendships with any of the dwarves are difficult to earn, but unbreakable when obtained. Any slight to a friendship with a dwarf begets vengeance, and they’re likely to hold that grudge for a long period of time, if not forever. Dwarves get easily lost in the “flow” state when they’re working, and interrupting them while in this state is an easy way to piss them off. Despite being extremely hard workers, they’re susceptible to wrath and greed. Locations:- Kirikjad Morndinsamman (Temple of the Morndinsamman)

Fighter’s Guild
You arrive at the Vur Dural Fighter’s Guild. The walls are lined with battle axes, greatswords, full plate armor, and tower shields. All seemingly created with master craftsmanship. You see a stout dwarf in plate armor behind a mahogany desk, with a greataxe sheathed on his back. The black-haired and -bearded dwarf is shuffling through a stack of parchment, shaking his head and quitely cursing to himself. In the corner, there are a few booths that are currently vacant that would normally be occupied by guild members.
Miner’s Guild
You arrive at the Vur Dural Miners’ Guild. The floors are noticeably covered in dirt from dwarves coming here from the mines. Along the wall, behind a wooden counter, you see various pickaxes with plaques underneath them bearing the names of dwarves. There is one round table in the corner that is overdue for a good cleaning.
Dinuroz Khaz (Dining Hall)
As you enter the dwarf dining hall, you can discern that dwarves place a great emphasis on eating. There are several long wooden tables stretching the length of the 200-foot hall, covered in crumbs and grease stains that were quickly attempted to be cleaned. At the back of the hall, there’s a wooden door leading off to the kitchen section. Halfway down the hall, along the walls, there are two fireplaces that currently show not even a hint of embers.
Housuroz (Housing District)
You arrive at the Housing District for Vur Dural. The dwarven houses appear to be cut into the walls of the tunnels. Faint candlelight illuminates the interior of these love-filled dwarven homes, to the point that a non-dwarf with the perfect upbringing would long for this life.
Mugdoruo (Mines of Vur Dural)
At the Mines, you see two dwarf guards at the entrance, nodding off to sleep before your arrival, but quickly gather themselves at the presence of outsiders. The wood supporting the mines is old and deteriorated, but sufficient to accomplish the dwarves’ needs. In front of you is a larger tunnel, leading down to the sound of clanging and grunting as the dwarves mine for the fruit that the mountain provides.
Bak Kadrel (Grand Forge)
You arrive at the Grand Forge, which is a series of anvils and benches along its 60ft length. Along the wall next to the anvils, there is a giant forge that spans the entire length of the wall. There are dwarves assigned there to keep the forge burning, and they do their job well. The amount of heat seems to rival the inside of a volcano, or the breath of a dragon.
Rimtar Honorforged (Castle Honorforged)
Castle Honorforged is the largest building in Vur Dural. While the other dwarven huts are made with mud and dirt, the castle is made from stone. There are large banners that hang from the walls of the castle. They have a yellow background with a symbol of a hammer with wings sprouting from the base of the grip stitched in black. You can discern that the banners have been there a long time, as they appear tattered and slightly ripped. The only light you can see from the castle comes from two torches hanging near the front door, where two dwarves stand guard.
Amost Vathsith (Town Square)
There isn’t much to the town square compared to the other cities you’ve visited. The houses are few, and there aren’t any decorations like fountains. The ground seems worn, as the platform for many celebrations over the years. The only thing that sticks out is the notice board off to the side of the Square, with several notes stuck to it.
Undrumm Ogjart Brevik (Underground Farm)
The Underground Farm is one of the marvels of Vur Dural. Despite having no access to sunlight, they have healthy fields of various crops, including mushrooms, cave wheat, rock nuts, and dimple cups. In one of the corners of the farm, you can see large piles of salt with meat poking out in various places. A medium-sized hut is located at a corner of the farm, the home of the family maintaining the city’s food supply.
Kirikjad Morndinsamman (Temple of the Morndinsamman)
You enter the Temple of the Morndinsamman, the gods of the dwarves. There are several statues of dwarven gods lining the large circular room, lightly illuminated by the candles that rest at their feet. The statues include a hunter, a traveler, a drunk, a warrior (female), one carrying a shield, a knight, a beauty, and a miner. Directly across from the entrance are two statues much closer to each other than the others. One is a female, carrying a wrapped child in her arms. The other is a strong-looking male, wielding a hammer.
The leaders of Vur Dural, descendants of Thurgrad Honorforged, have lived in Castle Honorforged for hundreds of years. The current leader, Lomir Honorforged, resides in the castle. He is wed to Ravana, and has two children: Gamina (girl) and Dovan (boy).
