Fram

Fram is a dwarven underground city located in the south of Dorius, far away from the mainland. Fram is the richest city in all of Dorius, because of their massive ore reserves, that they trade with other cities and towns. The place is a giant underground structure, divided into layers inside of a volcano. There is only one entrance to the city, and it is heavily guarded against invaders, making this city one of the most protected and feared of all.    Fram, differently than other cities, doesn't have a king, instead, they have a carefully planned council, composed of the leaders of the main clans in Fram. They manage the most important sections of the city, following the Communist political system.    Fram is a city that is not very welcoming to strangers, as the dwarves are aggressive towards non-dwarves, and the extremely hot climate of the inside of the volcano.    Another thing that makes Fram a very feared city, is the dragon that lives within it. This dragon is Reydra, the eternal one, a blue dragon that lived in the cave since before the dwarves inhabited it. The dragon and the dwarves don't cooperate for friendship or anything like that, the dwarves pay Reydra to roam the city, protecting it from invaders and alike. Reydra lives a comfortable life, served by many dwarves, and getting a great payment in gold each year to increase her hoard. Although both of them form an alliance, Reydra always demands more that is agreed, and the dwarves have to obey, as the dragon can destroy the city from the inside out.   Reydra is a double-edged sword for the dwarves, as they now have a very powerful ally, but if this ally so happens to turn against them, they will most probably perish. But even if they wanted to, the dwarves cannot get rid of the dragon, as they can't kill it, as they don't have enough power now.

Government

The big city of Fram does not have a king or a ruler, instead, they have a big council, composed of 10 members, each a leader of a clan in Fram.   These 8 clans are Coingrog, responsible for the economy, Brewheart, responsible for the medicine and health care of the city, Windmace, responsible for the weapons and the forge, Flintshield, responsible for the defenses of the city, Amberbrand, responsible for the main city management, Wraithbeard, responsible for trials and law issues, Flatsword, responsible for the army, and Kegfayer, responsible for the religion in the city.   These clan leaders meet together every year to make important decisions regarding the maintenance and new plans for the city. Besides that, these meetings also happen when a big problem occurs.   The city of Fram is managed in a Communist political system. The 8 clans manage the resources of the city and hand them out equally between the working population of Fram. Besides that, all of the shops and stores of Fram are managed by the government, more specifically, the Coingrog clan. Because of that, there is no competition between shoppers and there are only a few of each type of store in the city, but these few ones are very big and contain a wide variety of products.

Defences

The only known entrance to the inside of Fram is the great gate located in the south of the volcano. It is guarded by tens of soldiers at every time and protected by a giant wall of stone carefully architecture to be able to withstand any attack or any weapon. Not only that, but the inside of the city is also heavily protected by lots of guards. Compared to every other city, Fram is almost impenetrable, having a 0% success rate on the raids that tried to attack the city. They are respected by most and feared by many.

Industry & Trade

Fram's trade consists mainly of metals, gems, and arms, such as weapons and armors. These products are exported to the mainland od Dorius and sold at high prices. To sustain the food necessities of the city, they produce vegetables and cattle on the outside of the volcano. Besides that, they also buy food that cannot be produced in their land from other cities. But the most powerful weapon and defence that Fram has to its name is the blue dragon Reydra, that is paid to serve the city.

Assets

The city of Fram always has its gold reserve filled to the brim, because of the land filled with metals. Not only can they extract the gold from the underground, but they can also trade their metals with other cities, making them the richest city in Dorius. Because of that, the dent that the payment the dwarves give to the Reydra is very small and doesn't impact the city's deposits that much.

History

The great city of Fram was founded by a group of dwarves who fled from the mainland, seeking a holy land. They sailed along the seas, trying to find this so-called holy land, that was believed to be the original home of the dwarves. After some years of search, the dwarves finally found the land they searched, a big island with a giant volcano in the middle. But when they started to colonize the land, they were met with Reydra, an ancient blue dragon that lived inside the volcano.    When they thought they would be annihilated by the blue dragon, Reydra proposed a deal with the dwarves. She said that if they extracted the gold from the volcano and gave part of it to her every year, she would, not only let them live but also protect their city. And with no other option, they agreed. Since then, they created their city inside of the volcano and continued, generation after generation the alliance with Reydra.

Architecture

Because Fram is an underground city, most houses only have a front, the rest is covered by stone. But its part that is actually visible has a mostly square and geometrical shape to it, having cut, sharp corners and straight engravings on the stone. When they excavate a part of a cave to make place to build a new house or structure, they use the stone they removed from the cave to make the house itself, recycling the materials.

Geography

Fram is located inside of a dormant volcano named Mount Boulderpeak, that has not been active for hundreds of years, and is expected to stay like this for the next couple of hundred years. Although inactive, the volcano is still hot on the inside, causing the entire city to have hot temperatures, uncomfortable for most people who are not used to that.

Natural Resources

For its natural resources, Fram is one of the greatest sources of minerals in the world. They have enormous amounts of iron, gold, silver, and any metal anyone could want, including the rare and very powerful mithril, although is smaller quantities compared to the other metals. They also have a quite large reserve of gems, diamonds, and alike.
