The plane of Domhan and its astronomy

The plane of Domhan is flat. It has two suns, which are collectively called Ako's Eyes. When the two suns dip over the horizon, they poke back out an hour later, now twin moons, which go back the way they came in from, like a pendulum.   A day is measured by the full revolution of Ako's Eyes in the sky. When they dip over the horizon, night begins, and a new day begins when the eyes rise from the horizon. Sunlight lasts for about ten hours, and night lasts for ten as well, making the days twenty hours long.   There are 'stars' in the Expanse, which is only visible at night, but there are believed to be Ako's dismissed creations over time. They have no physical presence beyond illuminating the sky of Domhan. The Expanse is also not merely black, but is a colorful and beautiful sight.   Since Domhan is a flat plane, if one were to reach the edges of the world, they would eventually fall into the Expanse. No Emberi has been known to survive such a trip, as anybody who has tried has seen their body instantly disintegrated.
