Andria Aves

Andria Aves was not born into the line of succession, a distant cousin of king Andras the fifth, but her fate was not to die in obscurity. She opposed the war against Lorand from the start, and watched helplessly as the armies of Domeris were crushed over the next three years. When Andras and his heirs were smashed against the rocks of Holdfast, she knew she had to act. General Dorian became her ally, and in a single day whatever remained of the old Andras regime was swept away. Andria became queen at 32, though her power would be far from absolute.    General Dorian held all the cards, and he knew it. She was reduced to a figurehead ruler, unable to do anything as a humiliating peace treaty was signed and the country slowly collapsed into chaos. But despite recent setbacks, the name of Aves still carried weight, and Andria is far from accepting her fate as a puppet ruler. The royal armories are filled with powerful cruxes, ancient weapons of terrifying power, and the palace guard could hardly keep track of them all.   For the past 10 years Andria has slowly built up a network of spies and assassins, known only as the gilded fist. Slowly striking at Dorians government while securing the loyalty of the royal diet. Several local generals are already loyal to her, and she is in active negotiations with two of the regional generals. She already carried out one coup to start her reign, and she is deep into planning her second coup. She has even considered going to Lorand to seek aid, though she considers this to be the very last resort.

Personality

Andria was never groomed for the position of queen, but one could hardly gleam that from the way she carries herself. To her friends she is kind save for the occasional biting comment, and to her enemies she is cold and ruthless. Andria is Imperious, Domeris is her to rule by right of birth, and she is determined to see it returned to her full control. Andria believes that her status as a noble obligates her to help the lower classes, and in return she expects their loyalty. Fundamentally she considers herself to be better situated to chart the course of the nation than the common Domerian. She is better educated, more intelligent and more charismatic, and thus should strive to lead her subjects on the path to prosperity. While a form of enlightened absolutism would be her ideal, she has long since accepted the need for a some involvement of the common people in government. She has no desire to be a pure tyrant, and Majesty has already rejected her due to this quality.
