Doran Regnar
High General (a.k.a. The purple tyrant)
Soldier, General, Dictator, Doran Regnar bears all of these titles with pride. Doran started his military career as a private in the royal army, and now serves as the unmatched dictator of Domeris at the age of 55. Doran has attuned with Majesty, and is a fearsome combatant.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Doran is a tall and imposing man, though his age has been catching up to him. Generally fit for a man of his age, Doran makes a point of maintaining his body. While enhanced by majesty his reaction speed and agility remain excellent, but were he ever to lose it's empowerment he would likely be far less capable.
Special abilities
Dorian is uncannily adept at reading his opponents intentions, and generally prefers the counterstroke to the first strike. While enhanced by Majesty this ability of his is elevated to supernatural levels, granting him great insight into his opponents on both the field of battle and in diplomatic matters.
Apparel & Accessories
Doran wears a simple dark blue robe punctuated by red highlights while he resides at general headquarters, a technical breach of uniform regulations. Medals and complex uniforms are of no interest to him, as his desire is for the sight of him alone to inspire more awe than any medal or uniform.
If he takes the field he dons a suit of heavy armor, taken from the treasury of the royal household like the rest his wealth. The superior craft of Majesty allows him to move with far more dexterity than one would expect in the armor, and many a combatant has fallen due to underestimating his speed while wearing it.

Specialized Equipment
Doran wields the Crux Majesty, which grants him superior strength, dexterity and other enhancements. While attuned with the Crux he will be consumed by desires of conquest, and his mental faculties distorted in ways conductive to realizing that desire.

Personal history
Born to a family of tailors, Doran was conscripted into the military when he was 17 years old, and served with enough distinction to earn himself an eventual promotion to general, becoming the first commoner to reach the rank. When the war with Lorand broke out he was placed in charge of reserve forces around the capital, with the higher ranking noble born generals aiming to seize most of the glory for themselves.
As the war gradually developed into a disaster for Domeris, Doran secured the loyalty of the officers in the capital. The death of the royal family presented a perfect opportunity, and with the aid of Andria Aves Doran quickly sized the reins of government. The peace treaty that followed was harsh, with the republic of Lorand intending to turn Domeris into a sister republic as a prelude to outright annexation. A civilian legislature was set up, with a referendum on the monarchy to be held within five years, under supervision of the newly created Lorandian garrison. Left in charge of a country ruined by warfare, something changed inside Doran, possibly due to his attunement with Majesty. The man became driven, almost to a supernatural degree, and threw himself into the work of government. Doran had no intention of allowing the referendum on the monarchy to occur, and did everything in his power to prevent it. Doran considered the aristocracy, one of the traditional power bases of the tyrants of Doremis, to be past any usefulness. As such he simply abolished the entire institution with a decree, an act which earned him some points with the Lorandian government. This drastic change in policy quickly incited noble revolts, and with the Lorandian occupation force unwilling to risk casualties dealing with the rebels, they agreed to Dorians proposed expansion of the newly created armed forces of Domeris. The AFD was created in emulation of the Lorandian free forces, and Dorian implied that an eventual integration into the free forces would be the end goal of the expansion. Faced with the choice of sending either Lorandians or Domerians to die, the occupying generals never really had a choice in the matter. From there Dorians power only grew, he granted himself emergency powers ability to rule by decree until all rebel forces within Domeris were defeated. 10 years later the rebellions continue with no end in sight, and the legislature is powerless to resist Dorians will. A tyrant sits upon the throne of Domeris once more, and he intends to reassert complete control, both inside Domerian borders and beyond.

Education
While lacking a formal education as a child, the Domerian royal army offered night courses for ambitious soldiers seeking promotion to sergeant, the highest rank a commoner could achieve at the time. The classes were mainly focused on literacy, basic mathematics and other useful skills for prospective sergeants. After the reforms of King Andras the fourth opened up the ranks to commoners, at least in theory, Doran managed to secure a transfer to a more formal military academy. There he was educated on the matters of tactics, logistics and strategy, before ultimately graduating near the upper middle of his class. Beyond his formal military education, Doran has also absorbed the wisdom of Majesty, which has tutored him in aspects of rulership and political maneuvering. Doran is a voracious reader, and maintains a large library at central headquarters, though his tendency to develop an obsession with some small governmental matter and micromanage it for a few weeks before forgetting about it has in some cases done more harm than good.
Morality & Philosophy
Dorian holds little regard for the concepts of good and evil. He considers anyone who would make their will into reality through action to be virtuous. Perhaps this is why he holds the common citizenry of Domeris in such low regard, for a majority of them have long since been terrorized into accepting his rule without question.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Dorian is a creature of instinct. He acts upon his desires, and suffers no argument against his will. He maintains strong ties of friendship to his regional generals, and enjoys the hatred of the common people. He is an expert in reading other people, able to discern what their next move will be on the battlefield or the negotiating table. In conversation he is mostly joking, and holds little regard for any decorum. He maintains an easy atmosphere with his generals, and sincerely appreciates their company as he fans their hatred of each other.
His regime is authoritarian and in some aspects fascist, but the man himself would make no claim to that ideology. Dorian Regnar has but one desire. The desire to conquer. And there is nothing he will not sacrifice to satisfy this desire. Fundamentally he cannot bring himself to care about Domeris, there is not a single spark of nationalism within him. Fulfilling this desire is his only motivation, he would be content so long as he is remembered as the man who conquered Domeris, even if all that is left is a land of corpses.
Likes & Dislikes
Doran likes metal, he likes the smell of gunpowder, but above all else he likes the idea of progress. He is infatuated with it, almost as much as he is with the thrill of battle. This infatuation is not born out of any philosophical or ideological desire to see the repressive traditions of the aristocracy torn down. Doran enjoys the idea that his commands can shape both the soil and spirit of Domeris. He wants to transform it utterly, leave it as a reflection of himself. Castles and estates are torn down and replaced with military encampments and manufactories, institutions destroyed or subverted in the name of economic and military development. Doran will only be satisfied if, in two hundred years, Domerian history is merely an extension of his own history. An entire nation shaped like a Crux into the image of his soul.
He dislikes stillness, passivity, he always has to be on the move. He paces around the room while discussing matters with the regional generals, and will roam the halls of general headquarters if he has no other task at hand. He holds little hatred for those who rebel against his rule due to ideological motivation, some grand reason to oppose him and a clear vision of the future. But above all he despises the old aristocrats who seek to beat Domeris back into the shape of an aristocratic monarchy. Not only does he consider such notions insultingly backwards, but if they were to achieve their goals all his efforts at changing the soul of Domeris would be reduced to nothing, and there is nothing he fears more than that.
Relationships
History
Doran witnessed Hella's aptitude for Crux combat during a routine tour of the Aronica garrisons. For her part she initially mistook him for some lesser general, and thus chatted with him through her usual casual demeanor when he approached her. Doran was amused and decided against executing her. Instead, he gave her a promotion and followed her career with dethatched interest, before eventually promoting her to a Regional General and putting her in charge of Aronica. Hella greatly enjoys Doran's company, as he is about as likely to flaunt formalities as she is and has come to view him as a mentor figure. Out of all the regional generals she is the most loyal to Doran and is fully dedicated to carrying out his vision.
