Shitakii Myre

All hyperlinks in this article head to a page in portuguese, as I mainly write in that language. Feel free to use a translator to read, or to ask me more about them.

On my fourth visit to the dimension, as I prepared for the awakening, I saw a different being - it was a Shitak, I was sure of that, but there was something ... unusual about him. The being had his back turned to me, and in the center of it was a large spherical protuberance, the size of a span. At the moment I thought it was some kind of a disease, so I tried to approach the specimen to try to study it. What a terrible choice of mine.
The protuberance turned in my direction, and stared at me - it was a second head. Viscera came out of his mouth, nasal passages, and his hollow eyes. Furuncles, or something similar, were present on his face. Just then the main head noticed my presence, turning to me, and the shitak started to run towards me. Needless to say, I had to immediately wake up, fearing for my own life. Ladies and gentlemen, I am not ashamed to admit that I considered not to ever return to the Crossing.
— Great Sovereign Nemono I, "The Discovery"
Shitakii Myre (singular: Shitak Myre), or Shitakii Renegades, are creatures made of Essence that can be rarely found in Dolionne. Arising from the Shitak, they also come to this world through a Silendi, interdimensional stairs that weave all three dimensions together - however, this occurs intentionally, not by accident.   They are horrendous black, deformed, transparent creatures that some people tend to call "ghosts", "phantoms", "wraiths", but they are far worse than that. They are bloodthirst creatures which find themselves in an unending hunger, preying on whatever has flesh that might saciate their famine.   The Shitakii Renegades are beings from Limbo, the dimension of Essence recycling by the major gods, and not from the Crossing, the transitional dimension, like their relatives. The Church of Zemoa preaches that they are formed from Shitakii who refuse to be recycled and reused by the gods, claiming to have unfinished business to deal with, fleeing from that dimension. The Order of Knowledge, on the other hand, says that the renegades are shitakii who can not make the crossing to Limbo in a complete way, which makes them be mixed in multiple bodies at once.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Shitakii Myre are semi-incorporeal humanoids made primarily of Essence. Like their relatives, they have a high transparency and dark color, predominantly black. Their shape, however, varies according to the specimen - on average, they have the same members of humans, but they are never distributed in the same way. For example, renegades have been registered with up to four heads, while others did not have any; some have multiple arms or legs, while others have none.   The specimen members may be deformed in some way - twisted fingers, broken arms, outer viscera - but it is not a rule. Their trunks are generally a little larger than the trunks of humans, as if they were swollen from within.

Genetics and Reproduction

A shitak myre is born in Limbo from one or more common Shitak, but the mechanism of its formation is controversial. They do not reproduce - there is no gender concept regarding their species.

Ecology and Habitats

The shitakii myre are sighted in all regions of Dolionne, not being restricted to any specific place. However, they prefer small towns where they can find easy prey - farmers, merchants, solo workers and kids.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Shitakii renegades feed on flesh, both animal and human, in a morbid and insatiable way. They hunt according to the limbs they present - running, crawling, rocking from tree to tree - but usually seek to be silent to facilitate surprise attack. Some of them are easily heard, though, especially the ones that have multiple mouths.   There are no reports of peaceful specimens of this breed - it is believed that they seek to attack as soon as they see a living being, devouring it wholy if the hunt is successful.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

My brother and I were returning home after a day's work at the farm when I saw it. I lost my breath at the same time, I was petrified; in turn, my brother cried out in despair when he saw him, and the creature began to crawl in our direction, each of its seven arms moving agilely. He was muttering strange things, I did not understand what he was trying to say. My brother pushed me and told me to run for my life, and I did, as he grasped the sickle firmly. When I looked back I did not see any of them. Ah, my brother... What happened to you?
— Reports of a survivor
The shitakii myre possess the sensorial capacities related to the limbs they present. If a specimen has a head without ears, it can not hear; if one has several, its hearing will be proportionally better according to the number of ears. If they have one or more mouths, they can even talk.   In addition to the basic senses, they may feel the presence of some humans in particular - however, no correlation has yet been discovered between the characteristics of these people. Studies are being done both by the Church of Zemoa and by members of the Order of Knowledge in order to map the people persecuted by the renegades, and perhaps be able to both save them and capture a specimen.
