Paranaxis Thornborough

Paranaxis Thornborough (a.k.a. Speaker of Wilds)

Paranaxis Thornborough:

Paranaxis was born to an unknown mother and a Firbolg who had rose to a title. He was found by a group of adventurers known as the "Lost Party." Among them, Olivia Thornborough took care of the young Firbolg and later brought him home to her husband, Thomas, claiming to adopt him. For the next 13 years, Paranaxis grew up with a loving mother, Olivia, whose occupation sometimes required her absence. Despite the care from his mother, Paranaxis faced challenges with his father, who displayed cold and unfeeling behavior. When Olivia was not around, Paranaxis often experienced outbursts from his father.   Fueled by a challenging family environment, Paranaxis sought solace and understanding in the arms of nature, drawing strength from his inherent connection as a Firbolg. The desire to delve deeper into his primal heritage led him to immerse himself in the ways of the druids. Discovering an innate ability to communicate with plants, the druid ventured into the expanse beyond the walls of Dark Age Kaira, specifically into The Tainted Wood, Paranaxis sought guidance from wise plants residing within. Through rigorous practice and learning from the wisdom of the plants in The Tainted Wood, his connection to nature deepened to an extraordinary level, allowing him to tap into primal forces and harness the very essence of the wilderness. This newfound communion with nature transformed him into an apex predator, embodying the spirit of the wild and becoming one with the natural world.   In the aftermath of the Dark Age's end, Paranaxis emerged as a formidable force, wielding the legendary Vines of Terra to mend the scars inflicted upon the land during the Progenitor Wars. With the Dark One sealed and the Titans of Creation unchained, he took it upon himself to restore harmony and balance between nature and urban regions, though took time to reflect on the things that had happened to him and his family. Armed with this immensely powerful artifact, Paranaxis tapped into its primal magic and channeled its energies to heal the wounded lands. He became a mediator between the forces of nature and the inhabitants of the urban realms, fostering understanding and cooperation. By forging alliances and making deals, he ensured that peace and harmony prevailed across the lands.

Education

During his journey to attune himself with nature, Paranaxis sought knowledge and guidance from various sources. Notably, he received invaluable education in shapeshifting techniques from two distinct mentors: Ingrid, Sister of Chaos, and Terra, the Titan of Nature.   Ingrid, Sister of Chaos: Known for her mastery over the ever-changing forms of chaos, Ingrid became Paranaxis's teacher in the art of shapeshifting. Under her guidance, he learned to harness the unpredictable and transformative forces of chaos, allowing him to adapt to various situations and assume different forms. Ingrid's teachings instilled a sense of fluidity and adaptability in Paranaxis, enhancing his abilities as a guardian of balance.   Terra, Titan of Nature: As a firbolg with a natural connection to nature, Paranaxis sought guidance from Terra, the Titan of Nature. Terra shared her profound knowledge of the primal forces that governed the natural world, teaching him ancient shapeshifting techniques used by druids for centuries. With Terra's wisdom, he learned to merge with the environment and embody the essence of different creatures, enhancing his ability to commune with nature and protect its delicate balance.   The combination of Ingrid's chaotic teachings and Terra's wisdom from nature allowed Paranaxis to become a formidable druidic shapeshifter with no creature escaping his bounds, further solidifying his role as a guardian of peace and harmony. His education in these techniques became a crucial aspect of his identity and enabled him to fulfill his destiny as a key figure in the restoration of Dionis.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Here are a couple of Feats and Achievements performed by Paranaxis:   Paranaxis achieved a significant milestone by forming one of the first Primal Pacts with the Greystorm Cave Bear, a creature tainted by the Dark One's energy but capable of retaining its own will. As a result of this pact, the bear claimed Lake Greystorm as its domain, safeguarding all humanoid denizens within its borders. In exchange, the creature received abundant game and an atmosphere of tranquility, a testament to Paranaxis's dedication to maintaining harmony between the primal and mortal realms and fostering a bond that transcended boundaries to bring peace to the region.   Paranaxis the Druid, found themselves in a perilous battle against The Archangel, a cosmic entity corrupted by the Dark One. During the intense clash, Paranaxis was unexpectedly separated from the group and thrown into an alternate timeline. In this alternate reality, he faced off against The Archangel, bravely withstanding the onslaught of nothingness unleashed by the corrupted entity. Despite the immense odds, he managed to hold his ground and momentarily stall the devastating attack.   During his encounter with The Archangel, Paranaxis found an unexpected ally in Pyotyr Romanov, another member of the Heroes of Old. Together, their enhanced magical abilities and shared understanding of Chronomancy allowed them to solve a complex puzzle intertwined with time manipulation. Their joint efforts not only brought them back to their original reality but also provided valuable insights into The Archangel's weakened state, empowering them with the knowledge they needed to confront the corrupted cosmic being.   Through his mastery of the Vines of Terra, Paranaxis harnessed the primal magic and restoration abilities of the artifact to great effect. With the aid of Er-Zul, they ventured across Lynoa, identifying and targeting the tainted regions that had been corrupted by the malevolent forces of the Dark One. Using the Vines of Terra, they initiated a powerful process of purification, restoring the land to its natural state and bringing back indigenous flora and fauna that had once thrived in those areas. With each act of restoration, the corrupted zones began to dissipate, replaced by renewed landscapes teeming with life and vitality. The combined efforts of Paranaxis and Er-Zul proved to be a beacon of hope for the people of Lynoa, as they witnessed the transformation of once-deadly and desolate regions into flourishing and vibrant territories. The duo's dedication and skillful application of the Vines of Terra not only rejuvenated the land but also bolstered the spirits of the populace, inspiring a sense of unity and harmony among the different regions of Lynoa.

Mental Trauma

Paranaxis bears the scars of a strained relationship with his father. The cold and unfeeling nature of his father left a deep emotional impact on him, creating a fear of not being able to save others or live up to his father's expectations. The constant outbursts and lack of emotional support during his formative years left Paranaxis with a sense of inadequacy and self-doubt.   As he delves deeper into his druidic practices and strengthens his bond with nature, Paranaxis grapples with the fear of failure and letting others down. This fear has become a driving force in his determination to protect and preserve the natural world. He channels his mental trauma into his quest to restore tainted lands and safeguard the denizens of Lynoa, seeking to prove his worth and make a difference in the lives of others.   As Paranaxis continues on his path, his encounters with the primal forces of nature and the wisdom of ancient creatures and plants bring him moments of enlightenment and inner peace. Through his deep connection with the natural world, he begins to find solace and understanding, gradually shedding the burden of his past trauma. In his journey of self-discovery, he learns the art of forgiveness, not only towards his father but also towards himself. Embracing his flaws and vulnerabilities, he embraces the potential for growth and transformation. This newfound enlightenment empowers him to not only heal the land but also to inspire others to find strength and redemption in the face of adversity.

Paranaxis's philosophy is deeply rooted in his connection with nature and the primal forces that govern the world. He believes that every living being is interconnected, forming an intricate web of life that sustains and nurtures the planet. To him, nature is not merely a collection of resources to be exploited, but a sacred and sentient entity that deserves respect and protection.   He advocates for a harmonious coexistence between civilization and the natural world, understanding that balance is essential for the prosperity of both. His philosophy emphasizes the importance of maintaining the delicate equilibrium between human development and environmental preservation. Once wielding the Vines of Terra, he sought to mend the wounds inflicted on the land, restoring its vitality and nurturing the diverse ecosystems that inhabit it.   Paranaxis's experiences with mental trauma and inner turmoil have shaped his belief in the power of forgiveness and personal growth.
