Military action
As the Broken marched upon the Thirteen Kingdoms from the north; the Witch Hunting Guild's original member team, the Burnside Mercenaries, seized power in the Gherlein region. Though some of the most powerful casters and adventurers in the lands, their plot would be foiled by the returning kingdoms and their action would become known as the Peasant's Revolt. Most of the members of the Burnside Mercenaries were killed in the action.
Members of the team at the time included: the conquering Duke Joeasum Ferrera of forty-three years, advisor to the Peasant King Dark Lord Belae Thunderwalker of fifty-four years, diplomatic envoy Duchess of Evrys Sav'a Ednor of forty-three years, woodland ranger Count of Barovia Trewin Brokhan of forty-eight years, daughter of the Peasant King Master Mage Mira Mor of thirteen years, druidic Priestess Awolson Piremenn-Whitestone of twenty-eight years, southern warrior Duke Jako Whitestone of twenty-seven years, and Peasant King Leo Von Gruemann of fifty-four years. The only member to survive the incident was Master Mage Mira Mor. However, Sav'a would be survived by children that would continue to rule Evrys. Though they held the Gherlein province for a short time, their reign as peasant usurpers would forever be known. When the forces of the ruling class returned from their march into the cold lands against the Black Horde, they staged a battle and it was a glorious one. The greatest slight in battle that lead to the group's downfall was when Dark Lord Thunderwalker was pierced with an arrow and inadvertently opened up a fire funnel from the Inner Planes on the castle walls, devastating nearly all of the party's defenses. Though the fire would kill Joeasum, Thunderwalker, Sav'a, Awolson, and Jako, Trewin would live just long enough to be killed with the other archers on the wall by trebuchets. Leo would eventually be knocked from his griffon when a shot from a ballista struck it, the result saw him slain on the field of battle due to his impact injuries. When the peasants were routed, the kingdom was restored.
