The mage Arion returns and comes to power in Atlantis, he becomes the Lord Mage of Atlantis. Aided by the warrior Wyynde and the Lady Chian, he fights many battles to protect Atlantis from his brother Garn, from Lemuria, and the storms and glaciers of an ice age rolling over the continent. Scant years later, however, a battle with invaders from space, aided by Lemuria, causes the sinking of the City of the Golden Gate, the continent’s capital. Arion sends out exploratory Swan ships to seek new lands, at least one of these ships discovers the hidden land of Skartaris. He also, at least in a transitory hypertimeline, sends his granddaughter Kara to the future.
Arion soon discovers that he is a chosen agent of the Lords of Order, as his brother Garn Daanuth is a follower of the Lords of Chaos; preserved by their immense magical power, the battle between the two lasts for tens of thousands of years. Arion, one of the sons of Calculha and Dark Majistra, Ahri’ahn became a powerful mage and agent of the Lords of Order, protecting Golden Atlantis on the behalf of King D’Tilluh in the company of his lover, Lady Chian, and the warrior Wyynde, captain of the Royal Guard. His most frequent foe was his own brother, Garn Daanuth, raised by their mother as an agent of the Lords of Chaos, fulfilling a prophecy that two brothers would always struggle for; the fate of Atlantis. Mages including Los the Seer; the traitorous Malador the Mystic, who is imprisoned in a magical tomb for treating withdark forces; and Naran the Wise are amongst those whom fought for the nations in a series of terrible wars over the millennia.
