Trio Episode - Lies of the Tormentor

General Summary

Part One

Saelas had been pointed to a town where information could be found, what it was that Saelas was seeking remained unknown, even within. Marching forth to Olostin's Hold, Saelas visited The Broken Compass before encountering Binwin Bronzebottom. Binwin offered a mission, the recovery of debtors that he would pay 13,000 gold to have pay him back. Buying Saelas a Scroll of Teleportation, in the name of forward payment; Binwin whisked he and his hireling away to The Infinite Layers of The Abyss by crushing an amulet he'd found in a dungeon. Finding themselves in the wrong layer, Saelas used the Teleportation scroll to move them to another destination and then another using a spare amulet and then eventually the correct destination.   "This idiot," Saelas sighed.   Opening a portal Binwin exclaimed, once more but with modification from double axe to the abyss, "double axe to the right place!"   As his tune rang true, Saelas face palmed and remarked, "fuck this Dwarf is going to get me killed.   Finally at the door of a fortress Binwin seemed to recognize, Saelas analyzed allowed, "this was a bad decision."   "You're telling me." Binwin agreed, not realizing he was the problem.   Stepping trough a warp and inside the fortress, they met Tarnhem. An agreement was made between them and they were set on their way with Nimue and Sylas in tow. Saelas, wanting desperately to leave had agreed to attempt to take the life of someone named Acererak, the son of Tarnhem the balor Demon Lord. Transported to a field, Binwin tried to stave off paying Saelas and got it across that the payment would have to be gotten from the siblings.   Once awake, and after Binwin wandered off, Saelas explained everything to Nimue and together they discussed how to make money and leave Binwin behind. After a mild headache and the image of the moster she'd seen flashing in her head, Nimue then took SylasSaelasSaelas's soul would The AbyssNimueSylaslycanthropeealizing that her family was out trading in Everlund, Nimue got settled and the two talked about what brought Saelas to the town but little was offered, as Saelas was largely unsure but for adventure.   Nimue then found the Witcher of Waterdeep's new letter. It congratulated them on a job well done and offered a new job. The new job was tracking down a mind-warped centaur on in the north eastern forest somewhere. Likely warped by spell plague, they would have to find the creature and handle it as they saw fit. Saelas offered surpise that one would get so close to a civilization as to be bothered with and some insight on the beings before they decided that it would be best to get more.   Heading into town, the pair ended up mWaterdeepNimueinformation. Speaking to several people to no avail Saelas then set out and spoke with the guards. They told Saelas that they werestretched   He then asked them, "if you had a device that could do anything what would you make it do?"

Part Two

Thinking for a moment, Nimue replied, "there is so much of this world that I haven't seen."   "I personally don't know."   Unsatisfied with the pair of them Lum offered, "I didn't either but I wanted to win a battle, then another, and then many more."   Then, as Sylas awoke, he began to explain the unbelievable power of the Infernal Machine. He told them that the machine was truly all powerful with eight quindecillion, five hundred quattuordecillion options and then begged again, "well come on, what would you do with it?"   Saelas admitted that family stuck up a thought but Lum became more intrigued by Sylas' desire to destroy it. After a long talk and telling each member that he would have enjoyed romantic company with each of them, he ran away from the home, proving his madness, as his arms flailed behind him. Wanting to continue their adventure, the pair returned to the Sanguine Dawn and got down to questioning all whom that could.   Sylas got a strong sense of smell around the bar, the smell of dog, but as he put it off they drank some Wild Magic Brew and got down to questioning. Not leaving his forethought however, as they conferred, his suspicions came to fruition. They were called on by a table reeking of the smell of dog and they talked with Vendollin and met well her friends. They were then invited to the empty private room where they all talked about the local wolfwere pack. With the sisters at his side, Sylas was informed that he was more then just a wolfwere, they told him that he was in fact a loup-garou and was likely born that way. Sylas rebutted but they came to no definitive conclusions on how he was made. Ivan, of Barovia, and gave to flirting and offered much in the culture of wolves and even informed them that the town was secretly influenced by vampires and their lord, werewolves, wolfweres and their lord, and witches and all them were fond of a thieves guild that found refuge at the tavern they were in.   Leaving with knowledge of Sylas's situation but not of the centaurs, they returned once more to their home with Saelas in their company. After some rest, they found the following morning offered only arrow fire from the tree line outside of town. What came next was the Battle for Olostin's Hold where they joined the rank of the common man in defense of the town. Though they would not fight in the battle, they would watch on as the Champions of Destiny began their parlay.
