Duo Episode - Kelaryn the Clone

General Summary

Once Kelaryan made it to the town of Forlorn Hope, she entered the Deep Road Inn and Tavern. Inside she found a seat and had a drank before she took a walk about. At the bar, Kelaryn met a local braggart named Jean and ran him off with a few jests at his clear lack of adventuring experience. When the barkeep came around with a secret note from her father, she ended up making friends. After she told Durnan that her father was a Stonehammer, he gave her gold back and told her the story of Khundrukar and the Stonehammer Clan. Once Kelaryn took off, she left Durnan five Hârnic Silver Pennies and he promptly put them on display over the entryway fireplace. Out in town Kelaryn took a bounty from the local militia, payable by the town mayor. In the military camp she offered to help with the goblin problem but ended up meeting her father, Baern.   She learned that Baern had hired agents and that were useless and for nothing but coin and he admitted that together they could find his home. With great news, Kelaryn admitted that she knew his home to be but a week's journey down a treacherous road. Baern then told Kelaryn through the course of conversation that he came to Outlands by way of Sir Taebirn through the portal her and her friends had found out in the woods on Hârn. He admitted that he and Taebirn crossed the Astral Plane under the knight's guidance and that he was delivered to Outlands but the knight did not come along.   Back at the bar, Durnan told Kelaryn and her father, whom she'd drug there happily for a drink, that:   "Two centuries ago, the great dwarf smith Durgeddin the Black and his clan were driven from their home by a horde of fierce orcs and trolls. They plundered the Dewarfolk's ancestral halls and slew all they could catch. Fleeing his enemies, Durgeddin led the destitute remnants of his clan in search of a new home. After years of wandering, the Dewarfolk discovered a great cavern system beneath the Stone Tooth: a rugged, forested hill crowned by a bare rocky crag. There Durgeddin and his followers founded the stronghold of Khundrukar.   About a century ago, a member of Durgeddin’s clan was captured by a powerful orc tribe during a raid, and the orcs learned of their enemy’s hidden stronghold. The orc chieftains raised a great army and marched on Khundrukar. In a hard-fought siege lasting months, the orcs tunneled around the dwarven defenses. When they finally stormed the place, they put all within to the sword, then carried off wagonloads of booty.   In the years since the great battle, various creatures have occupied the stronghold and used the place as a base for their raids. At other times, the caverns have lain empty except for the mindless and bloodthirsty monsters that haunt such places."   Eventually Durnan led Kelaryn and her father to Zulthorn, a powerful magic user that called Kelaryn a Grey Child of the Universe and Zolthorn admitted that he gave a book about her people, that he earned from the Eilvenkin to a human man named Rick "Sandcheeze." In the conversation he had offered a quest to a tomb filled with horrors and Kelaryn joined with him and his aides. He then required her to prove herself and asked her and her father to kill a Flesh Golem that he had inadvertently created. He warned of a "celestial, horned devil, with a long face predisposed to judgement" in the nearby woods.   Kelaryn and her father opted for another sword for the magical gem but ended up creating a sword worth 18,750gp. She and her father stole some Mithril and forged a sword in Rurik's forge and cheated him out of the blade with a few simple suggestions on making one like it, calling Mithril "blued steel."   In a battle along side her father with a flesh golem, Kelaryn made a massive critical blow basically winning the fight early on and in the end with a pirouette she sliced the beast's head off. They burned the body and returned to the local military camp there after and slept for a few hours until they heard a noise early on the morning of the 4th.   Unknown to her, all the while, a Firbolg had left his home and was fated to cross paths with her that early morning. He walked north from his home beyond the realm of men and once he met a road he turned east. Once the road turned north he encountered a man killed by his horse, the horse hadn't liked the man. Timothy then befriended the horse and offered it companionship. With two saddle bags on the horse he'd set off. He encountered and ran off a wolf while trying to hunt by talking to it and eventually made it to the edge of a settlement. From there, he went north an saw Kelaryn and her father flicking flame off his blade while burning the golem. Timothy was then ambushed by three goblins, the horse killed two and he killed the last with his shillelagh staff. Timothy then followed the pair of humanoids, the first he'd ever seen, into town he met Durnan of the Deep Road Inn and Tavern who introduced him to Zulthorn. In the early hours of the morning, around two, Timothy set off north before he then hid from goblins in a camp further south. Inside that camp, thanks to his warning, a guard informed important members of the camp and among them were Baern and Kelaryn.   The local captain then asked the three to act as scouts to watch for reinforcements. Kelaryn said her goodbyes to some individuals she'd met Seagert an old man, Tycondis whom had flirted with her, and a boy named Grehnan whom she'd kissed on the forehead and told to be safe. They then snuck around to scout and happened upon a Stellar Gateway. Through the portal they were struck by an intercepting star's sun, warping time. The sun forced time to run askew but as the three found a library beyond the portal, time was of little concern.
