Siddhis

Siddhis are the divine school of psionics bestowed upon humanity by the Primordials, holistically unlocked through yogic techniques and meditation to open one's kundalini and become one with the energies of the Omkara. Long since ancient times, knowledge of the siddhis have been subjugated and censored under the control of the Devas.

Way of the Divine

Otherwise known as the 'divine attainments', these are the holistic abilities endorsed by the Primordials during their reign in ancient times. In the Age of Humanity, humankind's divine harmony was at its peak and many were born with a novice understanding of the spiritual energies. Many sentient beings resided in Tapar, the Psionic Realm, where they would train in psionics under the Kumaras, the gifted masters of the siddhis and partial manifestations of the Primordial gods. Ever since humanity's spiritual disconnect, the arts have only now resurfaced through the bionic studies of the Devas and their high priests as they yearn to manipulate and constrain the siddhis through artificial means, but the energies have found liberation thanks to the operations of the Saffron Robes and other rebellious efforts. The Kumaras remain in a meditative stasis, only tending to those who can prove themselves to learn under their ancient methods.   The school consists of eight 'classical' siddhis, recognised as psionics that have been perfected and stabilised for use:
  • Anima/Mahima: Manipulating space to alter the size of oneself.
  • Laghima: Loosening gravity to float and become weightless.
  • Garima: Increasing mass to enhance strength and durability.
  • Prapti: Projecting one’s body, mind and/or conscience to another location.
  • Prakamya: Weaving into reality to conjure things into existence.
  • Isitva: Asserting influence over the minds of sentient beings.
  • Vasitva: Manipulating the elements and the forces of nature.
Depending on the method of manifestation and the skill of the user (as well as their inherent nature), the application of the siddhi varies wildly. For example, an outlander with bionic implants may be able to project its conscience and navigate unfamiliar territory, whereas a celestial being with holistic powers will be able to spontaneously teleport across planes of existence within a matter of seconds.

Way of Yuja (Iddhis)

Following the Age of Idols, siddhis had become almost obsolete apart from Deva genetics and synthetic/bionic implants. However, the rise of the Saffron Robes and the founding of the art of Yuja was followed by a renaissance of psionic abilities known as iddhis. Attained through studying further texts and by observing and communicating with beings across the divine realms, these are aimed at activation through the flow of the breath and somatic motions, sometimes supported by bionics. For the secrecy of the arts, learning these iddhis are obtained through only oral tradition via a lineage of masters.   Unlike the classical siddhis despite expanding upon it, the Yuja school follows a naming convention more so inspired by observations within nature, providing the following psionics:
  • Reflection: Conjuring illusory duplicates of oneself that can interact physically.
  • Camouflage: Turning invisible by bending light and shadow.
  • Intangibility: Defying space to pass through solid matter.
  • Pond skate: Walking/floating across bodies of water.
  • Spider jump: Thrusting and soaring through the air.
  • Solar/lunar shield: Absorbing energy from the sun/moon to manipulate light and dark.
  • Divine vision: Perceiving and communicating with supernatural phenomena and beings.
Far from the more powerful, concentrated casting for siddhis, the iddhis are more efficient for casting in instantaneous bursts in the middle of action, harmonising with the dexterous nature of the martial arts aspect of Yuja, though with enough dedication and blessings, these psionics can rival several divine powers. It is preferable for the average Yuja artist to specialise in a few iddhis, albeit the main focus of training is to not focus on attaining these singular abilities, but by discovering them through sessions of meditation and sparring in nature.
