Devic Law

Devicracy is the theocratic system universally established by most Devas and has been a traditional doctrine since the first 'bloom' of Deva births. The ideology traces back to the scriptures of the old gods, which had become twisted to fit the power fantasy of the Devas and to relieve their satisfaction with their respective clans.   Citizens must abide by these universal policies as well as whatever laws their respective Deva specifies. Each citizen is classified with carrying ‘karma’, a social credit system that reflects one's compliance to their social role and the Devic laws as a whole. Upon death, the citizen's conscience is collected and forced to undergo a metaphysical process of 'reincarnation' by the high priests, reinserting their conscience into a queue where they enter a cryogenically frozen synthetic body and begin the cycle anew.

Caste System

The primary aspect of Devic law is the caste system, in which citizens must fulfil a fixed social role, no matter their skill, to maintain social cohesion that appeases the divine higher-ups and brings forth technical expertise within the ways of clanship. Each caste symbolically reflects the features of the Deva, forming a symbiotic relationship with the divine and the social groups.
  • Brahmins (Priests) - The Devic eye, known to be intellects beyond carrying out religious rituals with expertise in spiritual power. Few are superior enough to rank as high priests, masterminds who deal with vital matters such as maintaining the cycle of reincarnation as well as protecting and cooperating with the Deva personally.
  • Kshatriya (Warriors) - The Devic arms, acting as the militaristic and police units to bring force as a means of protection and subjugation.
  • Vaisyas (Artisans/Merchants) - The Devic thighs, responsible for the clan's technological development as well as cultural and economic stability.
  • Sudras (Labourers/Farmers) - The Devic feet, dedicated to mass production and gathering of resources to fulfil the developing demands of the clan's technology.
Technical and spiritual devotion rewards the citizen with positive karma and thus a higher place in the caste upon death, whereas negative karma punishes them harshly to the extent of shunning and exile. Unless necessary to the demands of the Deva, total annihilation of the conscience is discouraged, but they can be abandoned to aimlessly wander the depths of the lower realms and find a fate worse than death. Those who willingly disconnect from the system are classified as Untouchables, marked as criminals and a threat to the Devic clans.   To enforce this, premature citizens are sorted into 'caste garden' installations where, as part of their education, they are psychologically conditioned into working for their predetermined caste - a newborn in the warrior caste will be encouraged for their resilient behaviour and engagement in physical activities but will be met with a mild electric shock for partaking in any other behaviour irrelevant to their caste. As of this conditioning, most are satisfied with their social role as they grow up, but some may operate in secrecy to conceal their appreciation for other fields in case they are met with legal and social punishment.

Noble Salutations

The secondary aspect of Devic law is the Noble Salutations, a fundamental code that is educated to all citizens to maintain morale and social stability in the system.
  1. Honour oneself to their caste, for to act against social duty is to bring imbalance.
  2. Oneself must love their roots and so they shall prosper for the eternal continuity of their clan.
  3. The dedication of oneself shall be honed towards the expertise of knowledge and wealth and only these qualities.
  4. The ultimate goal of oneself is to be of utmost loyalty, and so they shall merge with the divine and transcend beyond reality.
Discipline and fertility are vital responsibilities in the life of a citizen. Going against these values is considered highly disgraceful and will severely tank one's karma score.
