Chatraglider

The Chatraglider (or simply 'parasol') is a form of free-flying transport utilised by the Saffron Robes to glide from great heights and across valleys, further manoeuvrable with the flow of breath energy.

Design

The chatraglider is almost twice the size of a regular parasol yet weighs very lightly, allowing for portability and having enough room for the user to hold onto the lengthy handle. The silk canopy supported by metal ribs unfolds in a large dome that creates lots of drag, allowing the user to gently float mid-air whilst shifting horizontal control. Atop the handle is an 'Iddhi sensor' that enables the user to channel their breath energy into the handle and through the canopy - with a steady breath flow, the user can manipulate the chatraglider in any direction mid-flight, sometimes going against the wind if the flow of energy is strong enough.
The chatraglider is also a means of self-defence, as the user can remove a lock to detach the bottom of the handle and reveal a bladed weapon. Bladed chatragliders are entrusted upon disciples of the Saffron Robes who can train under the vehicle-weapon hybrid as a means of deception and ground/air combat.
